GCM Watch today condemned the spirit of error, strident arrogance and spiritual thievery espoused by Bishop Yvette Flunder, a lesbian theologian in the gay christian movement. Flunder, speaking at a Phoenix, Az conference of homosexual christians called on other sexual outlaws to join her in challenging the law of God.
“Bishop Flunder’s ever expanding web of outright lies is not the work of the Holy Spirit whom Jesus said would lead us and guide us into all truth”, said Pastor DL Foster, founder of GCM Watch. ”Although Bishop Flunder attempts to cast herself as being a “radical” like Jesus, her comparisons are completely off base. Jesus never disobeyed God, he only refused to cooperate with traditions which excluded the rule of God.”
Citing a June 4th press release from the Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies (CLGS) at the Pacific School of Religion, GCM Watch compiled a list of Bishop Flunder’s theological blunders.
(1)”Today’s heretic is recognized as tomorrow’s prophet.” The only difference between a heretic and a prophet is time.”
Apparently responding to accusations of her own heretical teachings, Bishop Flunder gets it wrong. The difference is not time, but truth. Truth –God’s truth– determines the veracity of what we as Christians proclaim. The mark of a true prophet is submission to the will of God and submission is entry level Christianity. Bishop Flunder is playing a dangerous game in which the loser will experience devastating consequences. Therefore thus saith the Lord concerning the prophets that prophesy in my name, and I sent them not, yet they say Sword and famine shall not be in this land; by sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed (Jeremiah 14:15-16).
(2)”Flunder drew comparisons between the valley of the bones and the conditions of homophobia, trans-phobia, sexism, and racism, and said that the efforts of LGBT people to combat these issues would bring new life to American society. ‘It’s time to prophesy. It’s time to take our truth and put it in the ears and in the laps of people who used to scare us to death.’”
Bishop Flunder draws a false parallel to Ezekiel’s dry bone vision in claiming that sexual outlaws would be raised to “prophesy to a homophobic culture.” In Bishop Flunder’s isegetical matrix, scripture means whatever one’s fantasy desires it to mean. However, the dry bones represent being raised to holiness and obedience, not to continued disobedience and sexual immorality. Furthermore, the scriptures make no allowance for what Bishop Flunder calls “our truth”. Truth, according to the Bible is Jesus himself. “I am the way the truth and the life, he said. No man comes to the Father but by me.” Anyone who sets up any other truth said Jesus, is a “thief and a robber.” (John 14:6; John 10:1) GCM Watch encourages Bishop Flunder to repent for encouraging others to disparage God’s true way.
(3)”Same gender-loving people throughout history have been spiritually gifted.”
Although the scripture says “gifts and calling come without repentance (Romans 11:29), Bishop Flunder wrongly infers that (1) gifts are basis for acceptance and/or relationship with God and (2) such God-given gifts should be used in rebellion against God’s law.
(4)”Paul told the Galatians, ‘In Christ there is no male or female, there is no Jew or Greek, there is no slave or free, and if someone had held the microphone there long enough, he would have said ‘no gay or straight.’”
Just like the prosperity pimps who twist and write prejudicial meaning into the scripture, Bishop Flunder does a clever add on. There were no microphones in that day, but there were faithful men who recorded what the Holy Spirit told them to record and nothing more. What’s more, the words “gay” and straight” did not exist, but Paul did address sexual immorality in both the hetero and homo-sexual context (1 Thess 4:7). Why isn’t that acceptable to Bishop Flunder?
“In the black church, we have a term for what Bishop Flunder is doing. Its called “proffa-lying”. Self promotion has been a manipulative tool used by false prophets and pied pipers alike for ages. It attracts those who are defiant and disobedient to the loving laws of God and tragically those who have been wounded in the church”, said Pastor Foster.
Our goal is to confront this type of false doctrine with God’s truth. Joe Dallas, an expert in gay christian theology says confrontation of false doctrine is the only true biblical response:
“When God is reputed to sanction what He has already clearly forbidden, then a religious travesty is being played out, and boldly. Confronting it is necessary because it (the pro-gay theology) asks us to confirm professing Christians in their sin, when we are Biblically commanded to do just the opposite. As Christ’s ambassadors on earth, we unfaithfully represent Him if a professing believer’s ongoing sin has no effect on our relationship with that believer…which is, in essence, what Paul told the Thessalonians [2 Thess 3:6, 14-16].”
It is sad and disturbing to see such stiffnecked disobedience in the gay christian movement. Despite Bishop Flunder’s claims, the problems of the gay christian movement aren’t because of “homophobia”, but a result of their rejection of God’s moral standards.

Thats my bishop that you guys are talking about and here teaching is ver on point and I respect and love my bishop for who she is and the work that the lord has called her to do..so if we are childeren of God like we say we are lets not judge one another. And yes im gay and a pastor of my own church at 17….
