Yahoo gay ministers group founded by COGIC Elder

19 Jan

The blaquebigayministers group on Yahoo boasts 787 members and has been in existence since July 2000. The group was formed primarily according to its homepage statement,  especially for “black Christian ministers and friends who are family  and  need support and encouragement and a place of refuge.”  The term “family” is a euphemism for homosexual or downlow.

The group’s other dubious distinction is that it was founded by COGIC Elder Ronald Kimbrew (below, right) of Arkansas First Jurisdiction. If that sounds familiar, its the same jurisdiction where Pastor Ronald Paige, an accused molestor of teenage boys pastored a church until he was murdered in April.kimbrew

In August 2008, GCM Watch asked Kimbrew to clarify whether he was still a member of this group and why he founded it, but he has not responded to our questions.

The bigayblaque ministers group on Yahoo is private so you wont be able to gain entrance to see who’s exactly there.  But we did.

HISTORY

Although this may be your first time hearing it, this isn’t new and it isn’t,  in some respects, hidden.  “Blaquebigayministers” was first brought to our attention in 2002 by a formerly COGIC, New York based bishop who was familiar with the outreach work we did. He was alarmed when he came upon this group and shocked that it was populated by men in the church.  As a matter of fact it was first reported to Bishop LT Walker and State Secretary Jewel Withers, Jr. in March 2003 [See letter].  But it appears that not only is Kimbrew still in office and ordained, he has been promoted.

According to website of Greater Trinity, where Kimbrew is the webmaster:

Elder Kimbrew served the Arkansas 1st Jurisdiction as the Assistant Secretary of the Pastors & Elders Council from December 1996 to March 19, 2005. He has served as the webmaster of the web site since its inception in 2001. He is also the secretary of the Worship Committee @ Greater Trinity. During the Trustee Board Election of 2004 @ the church, he served as a member of the “Screening Committee” to ascertain the qualifications of each Trustee Board candidate. Afterwards, he supervised the election as Chairman of the Election Committee. On January 7, 2006, he became the Public Relations Director for the church.”

After learning about the group, a letter was sent to Bishop LT Walker and Supt Withers with specific information about the site and quotes written by Elder Kimbrew. Kimbrew organized meetings of homosexual COGIC ministers for most of the national meetings in particular Memphis Holy Convocation and the popular AIM (Auxiliary in Ministry) Convention. We spoke on the phone with Pastor Withers and Bishop Walker.  Both expressed shock at the information.

But what happened after the information was reported and verified? What happened beyond just the shock?

Is COGIC going to be silent while an organized culture of homosexual ministers and bishops populate its pulpits?

Elder keep up the good work. This is a total mess. You said this:

“Is COGIC going to be silent while an organized culture of homosexual ministers and bishops populate its pulpits?

I make the committment not to be silent my brother. I really don’t care what THEY do. I think we’ll continue to see business as usual unfortunately.

    God bless.

I am speaking up not only for Greater Trinity but for the Church of GOD in Christ. This is ridiculous and Ronald Kimbrew knows better than this. He sits up and hear not only Saint Dewitt Hll preach against homosexuality but other ministers. He needs to be sat down and removed as an Elder because COGIC teaches against homosexuality. This is truly ridiculous and a shame not only to the church but it is a disgrace to GOD. Ronald don’t play with GOD because if you continue believe me you will not like the outcome. Get right and instead of trying to preach to others sit down, read the Bible and get saved yourself. Homosexuality is an abomination to GOD.

We will not see business as usual at Greater Trinity. Our Pastor Saint Dewitt Hill is against sin and Ronald Kimbrew will be set down. You cannot have an unsaved person ministering to people nor praying for them. He has spirits and we are not going to let that mess get into other people. I don’t care this will not just be swept under the rug at Greater Trinity. We preach against homosexuality and do not condone it nor any type of sin.

GT, I pray that Ronald kimbrew seeks help and deliverance. At this point, if he refuses to repent, “sitting him down” is not going to accomplish much. I agree he DOES NOT need to be doing any “ministering” or preaching to anyone at his local church. But more importantly his soul is in a place of eternal danger. I hope God has not allowed him to become reprobate, thus not able to see his present condition and repent.

Please email me for information Im not at liberty to share on this site.

This was too crazy. I knew Ron Kimbrew back in the 70s when he was supposedly a straight man stationed at Altus AFB. It’s so sad to see what he’s become. And it’s even sadder to see that COGIC higher-ups are still looking the other way. Having grown up in the denomination, I know thier indifference, failure to confront, and failure to do the right thing in the face of not wanting to be slighted of gratuity. Ron knows exactly how to play the game and fly under the radar.

You know this is a very sad state of affairs for “Christians” and “Churches” I do not know this brother but I know the decietfullness of sin. My prayer for the entire “Christian” community is that Jesus would somehow make himself known to all his preachers and they become bold and receive a double portion of his spirit because that is what is needed today. I wish EVERY ordained minister would come together and pray for boldness, anointing and repent for allowing the enemy to come into the camp. Then we may experience a great move of God before his inevitable judgment comes!

Pastor Foster you are the man of the hour and God is using you to protect the youth of tomorrow and set captives free. I believe that the Lord is going to use you to be a light for a dark Church.

I continue to pray for your anointing and your protection in Jesus name, we are so proud to be in partnership with you and your ministry. I look forward to having you on the radio program soon.

While it is not surprising that the element of sexual perversion is so pervasive among believers, it grieves my soul to hear that leaders in the Church of God in Christ do not possess the professional and spiritual integrity to properly handle the horrendous situations that happen in its church fellowships. Sadly, this paradigm of “coverup” has infected the black church for decades, and has weakened its testimony in the world. I would to God that we members would take off our blinders and begin to hold our leaders accountable for transparency and truth-in-action. If we are going to impact our world for Christ, we must live the life we sing, and teach, and talk about. Holiness is still right, and the Lord is not at all pleased that so many of our pastors and organizational leaders are guilty of the Eli debacle – keeping erring sons in office to minister over God’s people. We are guilty of causing sinners to blaspheme the holy name of God, and in such a day and time as this, we come dangerously close to incurring His wrath.
