The junk religion of Bishop Yvette Flunder

You’ve heard of junk science?  Now, meet junk religion courtesy of lesbian Bishop Yvette Flunder.
The title of Flunder’s sermon is ” Beyond the either/or God”. That sounds deep and progressive and enlightened,  but the message actually should be entitled “Gee, I dont know”. That’s no exaggeration once you listen to the video.

Flunder says that the more she “grows and evolves theologically”, the less she knows. We actually applaud Bishop Flunder for her honesty in admitting that her genre of religion is not only intellectually bankrupt (which is minor) but it has been gutted of any biblical truth. Perhaps the “radical inclusion” doctrine is an accurate reflection of her simply not knowing what God requires, who God is and what the Bible instructs us to do.

The failure or rather neglect to seek God always results in junk religion which the bible terms “self righteousness”. The followers of Bishop Flunder’s junk religion should be very disconcerted to know that their spiritual wilderness guide doesnt know where she’s going or how to get them there.

Its ironic that in Bishop Flunder’s repeated reminders of her lack of knowledge is the Bible’s repeated admonition to seek wisdom and knowledge.

2 Pet 3:18 – “But Grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

Proverbs 4:7 – “Wisdom is the principal thing, therefore get wisdom. And in all thy getting get understanding.

James 1:5 – If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God who giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not.”

Hosea 4:6 -“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because you have rejected knowledge, [and what a devastating reaction by God] I will also reject you, that you shall be no priest to me: seeing you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children.”

There is no excuse biblically for not knowing. Further, it is the mark of a hireling, not a shepherd to leave the sheep without clear guidance. And the devastating cycle continues when a rejection of God’s truth keeps the pimpette in power. What is very tragic is Bishop Flunder’s admission that her upbringing (COGIC) was erroneous, but instead of seeking God’s truth, she carved her own way which she now ironically preaches as the right way. How ironic and hypocritical, the two main ingredients of junk religion.

  1. The Bible makes is clear that we can know truth.
Jesus prayed, “Sanctify them in the truth—thy word is truth” (John 17:17).
Paul exhorts the Philippians to think on “whatsoever is true” (Philippians 4:8).
The word “know” appears over 350 times in the New Testament either as a command or as an assumption that something can be known.

Ms. Yvette Flunder remains the target of God’s judgement – why? because she knows…

  2. Pastor Foster,
This is truly a Present Day fulfillment of the Lord’s parable in Matthew 13:24-30
    (24) Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
    (25) But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
    (26) But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
    (27) So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
    (28) He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
    (29) But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
    (30) Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

I find Strong’s Greek word #2215 defintion of “tares” a convincing description of people like Flunder.
    ζιζάνιον
    zizanion
    dziz-an’-ee-on
Of uncertain origin; darnel or false grain: – tares.

People like Flunder and the Yale Professor are FALSE GRAIN–TARES in the Field!

GOD has given us HIS Holy Word, HIS SON-JESUS CHRIST, and the HOLY GHOST to KNOW right from wrong!
    Rom 12:1-2
    (1) I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
    (2) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

GCMW: EW, it escapes me how people would continue to follow someone like Flunder who is incapable of even leading herself. For shame, but such is the consequences of rejecting the truth of God. Perhaps one day God willing she will have a road to Damascus turnaround before those eyes close for the final time. Until then, there’s still much hope for salvation.

  3. This is absolutely one of the best sites in the equipping of the Christian to defend their faith and evangelize the lost homosexual man and woman!

I’ve already referred this site to many folks, including my gay cousin who has been looking for churches in Atlanta that she’ll feel “comfortable” with. I’m sure she’ll find one as evidenced by the info you’ve posted on your blog.

I’m just amazed at the likes of this pastor flunder, who admit they don’t even know what or whom they are preaching about! Hopefully she’ll come across your site and motivate herself to learn the word of God. And who knows, she may even find herself convicted and find herself no longer desiring of other women.

    Praying for her!

GCMW: thanks cm!! I checked out your blog and wow, praise God! You are an instant blogroll partner! 🙂 If we stand on any other foundation than God’s Word, we are surely lost. Thanks again and welcome.

  4. Oh my goodness, what an honor it is to be on your blogroll! You don’t know how encouraging it is for others of the faith to join you in the cause of Christ!

I take that back, You DO know! 🙂

    Thanks so much GCMW!

    Your Sis’ in Christ

  5. You know, I wonder who these people sat under or who discipled them. I thank GOD for leading me to seasoned saints who did not to hesitate to confront me for my sins and fornication. I got “scared” of GOD and tired of being rebuked and confronted by GOD, privately and openly. I made a conscious decision to walk upright before GOD, know HIS word, pray, and THEN good things started happening for me.

I truly believe the Church as a whole needs to get back to discipleship/discipline and stop making members!

  6. Among a zillion other things, this womans needs a good biblical epistemology which begins with…?

You guessed it! – the fear of the Lord! (Proverbs 1:7)

So often ignorance and doubt is sold by liberal mush minds as pious platitudes when in reality it is a refusal to submit to the authority of God’s Word as the starting point for all claims to knowledge.

“Hath God said?” was the first suggestion of skepticism from the serpent to a woman and so may having been falling into the same trap ever since.

I’d like to suggest that she read John Frame’s book “The Doctrine of the Knowledge of God.”

  7. I’m confused. How can she read any of the epistles of Paul and say she is confused? Paul had the answers to ALL the pressing issues of the people he addressed? The Bible is so crystal clear. The reason she doesn’t know is because she is not evolving but rather devolving. She mentions “religion” and “paths” as if there are multiple paths to God. What madness we are encountering in the last days.

    Kyle

  8. She conveniently left out:
    hot-cold
    Rev 3:15-16
That was Jesus’ “binary construct” But I guess his words dont matter when if they mess up your flow.

    And speaking of not knowing….
    Why does the scripture say
AND WE KNOW…. that all things work together for the good of them that love God and are the called according to His purpose. Rm 8.28

This is like religious dodge ball. See how many scriptures you can dodge while trying to preach a religious message about the Bible you dont believe in.

  9. I have been an admirer of past Flunder’s ability to preach the Word. I have enjoyed he ministry for years.
If this life style is her choice I do not believe she has the right to infringe others with her beliefs or practices.
Do I beleive God love her YES I Do, Do I beleive God Hates The Sin Yes I do. Why is it that in the history of the bible or christianity, that people were killed because of this sin and now are we to believe that God has changed His mind, when we know that he is immutable, He does not change or Lie……

  10. did she say anything from the Word of God? any scripture??? no, she just babbled on about nothing, and people sit there and listen to this, no bible around, but supposed christians listen to this, and shes a lesbian??????? but supposed christians listen to this. This is another sign, Jesus is coming back soon,
and i dont need any responses from people who disagree with what i wrote, because im not going to reply, if theres a problem, pick up a bible, and argue with God about it.

  11. Bishop Flunder illuminates a truth that most Christians who are bound in absolutist dogma miss. All of us only “see through a glass darkly.” This is Bible also.

  12. Ken,

Before you go spouting off fortune cookie type sayings why don’t you add something of depth.

“Bishop Flunder illuminates a truth that most Christians who are bound in absolutist dogma miss”

    WoW! That was insightful.

    Kyle

  13. I dont mean any disrespect, but after hearing the words that slid out of that woman’s mouth, its near impossible to associate any of her words with the Bible’s truth.

That was 100% opinion, bad logic and reactionary rhetoric.

And exactly how does one accurately assess whether a person is bound in “absolutist dogma”? Is that more junk religion opinion to cover for the junk religion opinion of Bishop Flunder we have already heard?

  14. Hi–quick comment–I will continue to pray for Ms. Flunder b/c I do believer she is in error in her lifestyle…the commenter Ken said we see through a glass darkly (yes, the Bible certainly says that) – we don’t understand a lot of things HOWEVER, what God intended us to know, He revealed through His holy and infallible word, and that homosexuality is wrong is one of the things revealed. Why is it that we accept this inclusion? It is what it is…there are so many other things in the Word that are wrong too, we can’t accept those either. No on is perfect, but that’s why Jesus came, to DELIVER us from the hand of the enemy and all the things he wants us bound to. It’s okay not to know, b/c we won’t know some things by God’s design, but again, what we were to know, if we are to believe the WHOLE Bible (and we can’t believe some and not the other) was revealed in His word.

    thanks and God Bless!

  15. I am in agreement with the majority of writers on this blog and will reference 2 Timothy 3 & 4 which begins by saying, “For the time will come will men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear…”

The Bible is clear that many will fall to false doctrine in the last days, but I must say that I never cease to be amazed at how horribly gullible & ignorant people are. There is a clear solution, STUDY & KNOW THE WORD OF GOD FOR YOURSELVES! And even this can only be done by having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, which unfortunately Yvette Flunder does not have. Because It is impossible to KNOW Him and yet vagrantly & deliberately live in direct opposition to His written Word.

GOD’S TRUTH WILL NOT CHANGE, and a LIE is still a LIE even when it comes out of a smooth talkin’, Gospel singin’, people pleasin’, politically “correct” speakin’, person’s mouth.

Let’s continue to stand for God’s truth in the midst of increasing darkness.
