Sexual purity conference announced

In 2007, hundreds of people gathered in the Webb Hall Conference center on the campus of North Carolina A and T State University for the first Triad Summit on Valuing Abstinence and the Family or the “2V” conference.

Conference organizer Elder Raymond King is now promoting the second conference featuring keynote speaker Dr. Alveda King, neice of the famed civil rights leader.  The conference is scheduled for August 21-23 at the Olivet Christian Center in Greensboro.

In addition to Dr. King, other highlighted speakers will be Author, Speaker and Minister DL Foster of Atlanta, Mike Haley of Focus on the Family, Charlene Cothran, editor of VENUS magazine, David Benham, co-founder of the Coalition of Conscience and Lyn Thrasher, Executive Director of the Greensboro Pregnancy Care Center.

Pre-registration is until August 10th. The pre-registration fee is $10.00 per person or $30.00 per family (parent(s) and their children only). After August 10th, the regular registration fee will be $15.00 per person and $40.00 per family. The registration fee will cover your entrance to each session on Thursday and Friday evening and to each of the three sessions on Saturday including the public forum and the play.

The conference session schedule will commence on Thursday the 21st and Friday the 22nd from 6:30-10:00 pm. Three sessions will be offered on Saturday the 23rd, 10:00-12:00 noon, the public forum from 2:00-4:00 pm and the evening affairs will begin at 6:00 pm.

“We’re going to focus on providing substantial information this year regarding the issues that are vital to the family. We encourage you to make a commitment to attend the entire summit. This year’s event will be very meaningful and a special experience for all who attend.” said King.

  1. Looking at your video, I was so glad to see that AC Green is married! I was beginning to worry about him when I knew he was in his 30’s, a man, rich, and still a virgin (against all odds)! It is just so amazing that AC Green remained a virgin in spite of the NBA riches, groupies and fame! What a testimony from that man!

But that conference is very much needed Pastor DL and please let us know how it goes. Like I shared before, when my kids attended a similar conference here in San Diego, it made such an impact on their lives. Just knowing that other kids just like them who have parents that teach abstinence like their parents, just helped the whole peer pressure thing!

My daughters are both beautiful and still virgins at 21 and 23 years old! My 23 year old daughter wrote of this on my 2nd blog, the Mother Zone. I think I had shared that before also, but here it is for folks who want to read a testimony of a young lady abstaining from sex to please God:
    Parental Detoxification

So for any parents who think it’s a wasted effort in trying to teach kids abstinence and just give them “protection” and let ’em go, my daughters and hundreds of other virgins in existence today are living proof that it is possible for kids to remain sexually pure in this sex drenched society of ours!

  2. Wow! To Carlotta,

That is so funny to me to think she thought AC Green was gay because he wasn’t married. This is the reasoning that will stop gay people from coming out of the lifestyle. It’s not about HETEROSEXUALITY BUT HOLINESS. People can live without sex and not be straight in orientation. Please come better than that.
