Charisma column posted

My new column at Charisma Magazine is out. Its a rotating guest spot called “Somebody Say Amen”. Previous writers have included well known black church leaders like Mother Willie Mae Rivers of COGIC, Zachary Tims, Evangelist Joyce Rodgers and COGIC’s Derrick Hutchins. You can go there and read it if you’d like. My critics often accuse me (and for that matter, most anyone who disagrees openly with the homosexualization of our country and churches) of being “obsessed” with homosexuals, but I am only doing what God has equipped and commanded me to do. Hopefully, my voice will inspire others not to be lulled into compromise with sin and to defend God’s word instead of personalities.

In case you haven’t noticed I’ve adopted the latin phrase Verbum Domini Manet in Aeternum which is translated “The Word of the Lord endures forever”.  God’s word is our light and our life. Period. (John 6:63)

Of the article, I will say that it was edited, so some of the “edgy-ness” I am known for was muted somewhat, but nevertheless I’m grateful for the opportunity to speak out on the issues.

  1. GREAT article D.L.!!! I am so grateful to God to know a pastor like you who boldly speaks the truth without compromise!

Especially appreciated what you wrote here:

“Instead of boldly proclaiming the gospel, too many pastors are soft-pedaling the truth in exchange for a favorable public perception.”

In the last several years we’ve seen the advance of gay rights lead to the suppression of religious liberty. Increasingly, believing that homosexuality is a sin is being equated with bigotry.

Do we reject God to get the king that we want, as the ancient Israelites rejected God’s leadership for Saul’s? Or maybe what we’re seeing is a foreshadowing of how the world will respond to Jesus during the reign of the Antichrist.

SO TRUE! When people – especially Christians – can be so easily reject God’s Word on proper sexuality and be duped by the homosexual agenda, why wouldn’t they fall for the deception(s) of the coming False Prophet and Antichrist?

The deception being perpetuated by the homosexual activists is not only invading many denominations of Christian churches, but it is taking over the minds of those who are blinded to the truth and do not want to follow God’s Word on this issue.

Recently, a commenter at my blog shared this verse:

Roman 2:15 – They show that what the law requires is written in their hearts, a fact to which their own consciences testify, and their thoughts will either accuse or excuse them.

Doesn’t the “…fact to which their own consciences testify, and their thoughts will either accuse or excuse them” accurately and succinctly describe our current battle over same-sex issues in the churches today?

Pastor Foster, you are on the correct side of this issue. Those pastors and “friends” excusing their sin of homosexual behavior leaves them vulnerable to Satan and in bondage! Accusing themselves of their own sin is the ONLY WAY to lead them towards repentance – which in turn – leads them to salvation in Jesus Christ.

    Jesus said:

Mat 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Mar 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

Souforce, gay christian activists, and all the rest of the worldly lot may be “gaining the whole world” for their perceived “finite rights.” However, “what shall it profit a man”??….Jesus Himself asks…”if he shall gain the whole world” AND YET “LOSE HIS OWN SOUL??”

The gay christian movement is in the business of excusing themselves. They have chosen “to exchange the truth for a lie.”

And, what’s more, they will do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING to attempt to cover their sin and excuse themselves rather than what is truly needed – repentance! Why? Because whether one admits it or not, one’s own conscience and God’s Word accuses them already.

  2. Hello Christine!

That is the questions isnt it?

What shall it profit a man to gain the whole world (gay rights legalized in every state) and lose his own soul.

How tragic to pursue this life with relentless abandon and then lose eternal life with Christ in the end!

Pastors should realize that to tell people the truth in love without wavering is what will save them. Unfortunately too many calling themselves pastors are actually hirelings who have no care for the souls of lost men and women.

  3. I have never thought for a moment that you are ‘obsessed’ with the Homosexual agenda! Indeed, the Savior puts on our hearts different ministries and different causes…

For some of us, that will be a heart towards the unborn or the poor or the infirm or to a certain country as a missionary ….

We are all called to something….in your case, you are called to the Gay community in helping them out of their delusion….

    That is a wonderful cause!!!

Let’s face it…wherever you shine Christ’s light, the enemy is going to screech!!

    Stay Blessed!

    Devon in Canada.

  4. Great article, and congratulations on the exposure!

The “obsession” accusation is a cheap trick the pro-gay theology people use to try and silence us. I get that as well, along with the accusation that I must be a closet gay. What is ironic is that they are the ones so obsessed with calling evil good that they are willing to destroy churches and denominations to get their way. Talk about obsession!

Apparently that sort of foolishness silences some people. I just point out what it is and restate my points.

    Keep preaching!
