Gay christian lie debuts on Oprah show

oprahshow1One of the most lucrative lies in the false prophet’s arsenal is to make people believe they are ok as they are.  In this current climate of emerging apostasy, it pays good to lie to people. In this case, one of the gcm’s top 15 lies of 2008 made  it onto  Oprah via a so-called minister.

The Rev Ed Bacon, (right in graphic) an Episcopal priest told a black man in Alabama who called in to the show’s “spirituality” webcast that his homosexuality was a “gift from God”. Oprah,  a spiritual infant with the world in her playpen, said the comment made shock waves because she hadn’t heard it before. Sidebar: That’s why Oprah needs to start reading GCM Watch. We just covered that outrageous lie.

Here’s how the O-Show’s website updated the controversy:

Another hot-button issue that sent viewers straight to our message boards was a comment made by the Rev. Ed Bacon during a discussion on spirituality. After hearing from Sedrick, who says he had a tough adolescence growing up as a gay teen in rural Alabama, the Rev. Bacon said something Oprah says she has never heard a minister say. “Being gay is a gift from God,” the Rev. Bacon said. “But our culture doesn’t understand that. And consequently, the culture sends messages that you ought to isolate. And isolation is the antithesis of what all of us need.”

To further explain his comment, the Rev. Bacon joins Oprah via satellite. “I meant exactly what I said,” he says. “It is so important for every human being to understand that he or she is a gift from God.”

This lie is being passed around like a fatal case of AIDS. Bacon got this lie from his presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts who was infected by Mel White.

Bacon told several lies.  In the update he adamantly claimed he meant exactly what he said, but that’s not true.  Notice with the sleight of forked tongue how Rev. Bacon switches the semantics of his statements.

First statement: “Being gay is a gift from God.”
Second statement: “He or she (presumably the homosexual) is a gift from God”

There is a world of difference in those two statements.  The first is a lie because according to the scriptures, God does not “gift” people with sin. The wages (or payment) for sin is death, but God’s gift is eternal life. Of course, that eternal life comes through repentance and acceptance of Christ. Romans 6:23

The second statement is actually truthful, but Bacon uses it with an ulterior motive. All people are ‘gifts’ from God. Behold, children are a gift from God. Psalms 127:3 Thus, the significant difference is saying that sin is a gift as opposed to a person being a gift.

In case you’re wondering, the African American who jumped to second the lie is the new age false prophet Micheal Beckwith. This guy is just plain creepy. I’m leaving my theological moorings to say this but he reminds me of Tales of the Darkside.

Millions of people are being sucked into a hellish life of rebellion through Oprah’s witchcraft.  But some Christians swear by it quicker than they trust God’s holy Word.  Maranatha, Lord Jesus.

  1. thank you for this. oprah does a lot of good–but she does a whole lot of destruction socially also.

  2. Good catch on his sleight of hand. But who would expect honesty from a guy who says things like that? What a shocker that Oprah could find a false teacher to say something she hadn’t heard before, and just happened to agree with!

  3. Yes, a shocker indeed! Thanks Pastor DL for this article. I’ve posted this on my Facebook page for all to see! I see you have a Myspace page, how about Facebook?

GCMW: 🙂 Carlotta, thanks but no thanks. I have my hands FULL with M/S.

  4. You know, everytime I hear or see this kinda stuff, it just brings to mind the Word……false teachers, itching ears, delusion, people worship the creation rather than the Creator. That spirit on Oprah is getting uglier and uglier and is revealing itself the more she opens herself to it.

  5. 1. Oprah does a lot of good, when it serves a lot of Oprah. So, wouldn’t that double negative make it really evil?

    2. Pastor, you did it again. Your ability to take folk behind the curtain is marvelous and should be applauded. Nicely done, brother.

  6. Wow; through today’s blog, I have once again heard someone imply that “Oprah is a witch,” in that she has manipulative pull in so many ways, be it for good or ill. She may not be aware of it or probably wouldn’t label herself as such; but her modus operandi does appear to stem from the spirit of witchcraft, particularly when it comes to glorifying and approving unbiblical world views. Beside one friend saying to me that “she’s a witch,” another friend of mine labeled her an “angel of light” (2nd Corinthians 11:13-15). She knows the Bible (some of it, anyway), but chooses to believe what she wants, on her terms, which we know will not save her in the end, unless she repents and begins to believe and profess Bible principles on “God’s” terms. I used to watch her show often, but I have really cut back since she started those “New Earth” online sessions with Eckhart Tolle. It wasn’t a conscious effort on my part; it just “happened.” May God’s Holy Spirit lead her to the TRUTH.

  7. Please watch the video again and notice what is said at the 25 second mark.

This is actually more profound what you are going to hear than you think. I’m not going to tell you just listen again. I will however say that this is exactly what people like Joel Osteen and Rick Warren are saying. Consequently we should not be surprised that the feel good gospel of the Pimps and the GCM are now coming together. They share the same vision. Spiritual Babylon is rising.

  8. @ hisscrivener, thank you sir always an honor for you to drop by and read. Although I get ruby’s point, I cant say that Oprah has done a lot of good. One’s good does not cancel out one’s sins.

@GNP22, yes my brother this is witchcraft which the bible compares to willful disobedience. Oprah and her pack of false teachers are encouraging people to disobey God and instead become their own gods.

@Kyle, bullseye this is one world religion in full view. Ministers in white collars telling people the bible (or God) has no relevance, only your spirituality. Watching this again sickened me.

  9. Oprah also endorses President-Elect Obama.
He endorses “civil rights” (read homosexual rights)

Will this be a part of the yet to be articulated “Change” that is coming to America? (and by extension, the world?)

  10. Ophrah’s show is of the world. It is not of the Almighty God, so you shouldn’t be surprised by what you hear on her show. I’m not surprised at all. These people are of the devil, and when you are of the devil you say devilish things. That minister is a minister of Satan.

  11. Curious Pastor DL,

How is Michael Beckwith a false prophet when he isn’t Christian? I thought false prophet meant you were misrepresenting the faith. Please explain ( or educate)

  12. Tony, one does not have to be a Christian to be a false prophet. The term comes from the Bible, but the application is to anyone who prophesies (proclaims, speaks publicly) a false message.

What makes Beckwith a false prophet is that he conveniently cherry picks parts of the Bible which he finds supportive of his false message. Then to make matters worse he mixes scriptures with with words of other false teachers (like Buddha) giving the perception that such words hold equal weight. By his own words, Jesus declared that he alone is supreme and that NO ONE can gain access to God except they come through him. Yet, false prophets like Beckwith claim there are many (legitimate) spiritual paths to God. Thats why he was welcome on Oprah. No true prophet/preacher/minister would make such claims.

    Here’s an example.

  13. Tony,

Your strawman arguments are getting old. Mohamed and Buddha were false prophets also by proclaiming another means of salvation. Your insistence on a prophet having to be a Christian is therefore irrelevant.

  14. Kyle what planet on you on?

Your are hung by your noose. I was asking for clarity as I didn’t know a non- Chistian could be a false prophet. I thought that term was specifically reserved for apostates and heretics. So save your ill-guided venting. I was specifically asking Pastor DL to educate me. *READ* before you reply. You make youself look very silly 🙂

GCMW: Tony’s right Kyle, I think you jumped the gun a little on this one.

  15. Tony, LOL!

My apologies. I thought you were asking the question in a “sarcastic” manner. Also, I believe there is a different “Tony” who posts on this site who is a GCM defender. That’s the reason I responded in that manner. Oftentimes the GCM defenders come here and lob softball arguments of which I responded in kind not knowing “how” the question was asked and “who” was the person asking.

    No harm no foul bro.
