Jamal Bryant preaching to COGIC?

jmbryant

Well, considering all the mess this denomination’s leaders have allowed it to be ensnared by, this comes as no surprise if it pans out to be true.

I saw this on COGIC Yahoo where a poster said Bryant twittered the following:

“I’m so excited was just invited to preach holy cogic convocation Sunday night in Memphis November 8th…pray saints!” [source]

Last year they hosted false prophet TD Jakes to entertain the saints. If you need any proof of Bryant’s disgusting religious lifestyle check here, here and here.

COGIC should find (if that’s not too hard to do) men or women whose lives actually adorn the gospel—not pervert it— to speak to the church’s members. Parading these false teachers and celebrity preachers du jour during convocation does nothing but further erode the foundations of the church, not to mention waste valuable money.

Does anyone know how much COGIC will have to pay Jamal Bryant for his entertainment services?

  1. Next year it will be Sun Yung Moon, and he will be paying COGIC, though not his original offer, as we are in a recession…

GCMW: LOL, run for tha hills…quick!

  2. Is this the same man that committed adultery and impregnated a young woman that was a member of his church?

  3. Are you kidding me?

Initially, that picture made me laugh so hard, I think I just woke up my lil’ Wall Watchers. Thanks, Pastor. 🙂

Brother, this is nothing more than to get butts in seats. And JHB? Is that the best you can do COGIC hucksters? Why not call up Deion Sanders, Gary Busey or whatever other pseudo-Shanto Shanto Christian TBN hurls up on TV and ask them to get in the pulpit?

Oh, and MEMO to those dopes: The pulpit is a place of sanctity, not a platform for a Tony Robbins convention. In other words, just not any body should get behind a holy lectern and speak about Christ. Most of those should get off the stage, sit on their blessed assurance and listen.

Who knows? They may learn something.

GCMW: HS, pix courtesy of my bro Im Speaking Truth. And you right, it smacks the funny bone hard!

  4. It seems fitting that these two entities would feel at home with one another – a soon to be reprobate “church” and an already reprobate “minister”.

Hey COGIC – hide your teen daughters and bring your wallets…sounds like it’ll be a rip-roaring time.

  5. Man, I just don’t know whatelse can be said about COGIC’s downhill run. I saw Jamal’s Bryant video clip last year where he was telling his church that he’s going to keep preaching no matter what they’ve heard about him (baby mama drama).

I am just lost for words. It’s like my cable company who I think has the worst service ever, and I usually used the line to describe them, “I don’t know how they can call themselves a cable company”. Will that same saying holds true for COGIC, “I don’t know how they call themselves a denomination”.

  6. Why am I not surprised?

I guess the COGIC Convocation has become nothing more than the “Who’s Who” of the modern popular “Christian” ministers platform! They let any popular “preacher” get up there and run the church folk crazy!

These modern-day Convocations/Conventions/Conferences are an absolute joke! Ain’t nothing holy about this stuff no more!

  7. I live in the Baltimore area and Bryant has a terrible reputation. He does have a gift, and gift comes without repentence but I think it is appalling that he would be speaking to the saints. There are still save folks in COGIC and they deserve better!

  8. “Lustbag” Bryant strikes again!

Hey, they told me I couldn’t do that and serve God yet alone preach. Why does he get to get away with it and take them holy folk offering in the process?

I don’t want to be too carnal but shoudn’t he and those that endorse this mess at least “kiss” the people first?-LOL Lawd help me please!

  9. Let’s give Pastor J. Bryant a chance. Remember the thief on the cross? People can change! They without sin, let him/her cast the 1st stone! I’m walking away-Be blessed! Traveling mercies to Memphis, TN for the 102nd Holy Convocation!

  10. Im trying to think of a false prophet in the bible who changed. Ms Tillery, Bryant loves captive silly women laden with lusts. Thats how he got all those babies out of wedlock. Make sure you have meat for repentance before you get too close to “the fire” in Memphis.

  11. Remember when Jesus said “he that is without sin among you let him first cast a stone” none cast a stone, but when he spoke to the woman He did not tell her to go find her another man,He told her “go sin no more”.It seems Ms Tillery doesn’t understand that he that COMMITTETH SIN[willfully, deliberately, continuosly abides in,and practices sin]is of the devil, that includes all.Does any one know the significance and the necessity of BIBLICAL REPENTANCE.

  12. YOU KNOW ELDER FOSTER

  13. Utterly despicable!! According to the biblical qualifications of an elder, JHB isn’t fit to preach to a dog no less a crowd filled with tickling ears and itching checkbooks.

  14. If the powers that be bring in JHB, they deserve what they get.
And if the sheeple pay the conference fee and sit under this false teaching, they deserve what they get.
    Romans 11:9-10 (The Message)
“Fed up with their quarrelsome, self-centered ways,
God blurred their eyes and dulled their ears,
Shut them in on themselves in a hall of mirrors,
and they’re there to this day.
David was upset about the same thing:
I hope they get sick eating self-serving meals,
break a leg walking their self-serving ways.
I hope they go blind staring in their mirrors,
get ulcers from playing at god.”
Keep pressing the battle to the gate Pastor~

  15. “LB” Bryant didn’t speak at the convocation. Does anyone have any reason why? Barry C. Black spoke in his place and there was no mention of Jamaal…what a wonder.

  16. Hmmm, Pastor Burnett, maybe they axed him or led him on. Maybe they listened to people who said drop him. Or he prematurely twittered. His twitter message sounded very certain. Nevertheless, Im glad.

I was about to ask who Barry Black was. But after googling his name, found out he is the 7th day Adventist Senate Chaplain.

  17. it looks like JHB was exaggerating a bit about his role on Sunday night..

    from the International Evangelism Department

Int’l Department of Evangelist Revival Fire Services
    Posted on 01 November 2009

Join us on Friday, November 6 – Sunday, November 8, 2009 at 10:30pm at the Mason Temple 939 Mason Ave for Revival Fire Services. Speakers to include President Willie James Campbell, Superintendent James Whitehead and Pastor Jamal Bryant. Great gospel singing and anointed preaching each night!

it looks like he was never scheduled to speak at the convocation

    from his Twitter..

We just got out…IT’S ALL OVER..I think I’m gonna become an honorary member of COGIC! #FB
about 7 hours ago from Echofon

GCMW: So, Djenk he spoke at the evangelism meeting not to the general session? Is that the difference?

  18. Is that HIS twitter account or is someone lying on his behalf or in his name? That’s the question…Did someone deliberately give false information, bate elder Foster in an attempt to bring shame?

I find it hard to believe that this guy didn’t know for sure that he wasn’t a speaker. They normally do this in quite some time in advance.

  19. that from his official twitter page…the link to his twitter is posted on the official JHB website..

    another tweet from that page..

Been in consecration to preach the close of COGIC holy convocation tommorow night in Memphis.Pray saints!#FB
11:46 AM Nov 7th from Echofon

  20. Pastor no, I linked directly to the page. Looked at it myself. Unless it is a fake account. If it is if someone showed me the two different ones, Id be happy to eat crow on that. But from what I see he only has that account. Djenk linked to it to.

  21. as far as i can tell, JHB only spoke at the evangelism meeting not the general session..i dont think that Revival Fire Service was an official part of the convocation but i could be wrong..when he said that he was closing down the convocation, i thought that he was talking about speaking at the 7pm service like TD Jakes did last year…instead, they have a 7th Day Adventist preaching on Sunday night…looks like they’re taking this ecumenism thing to a whole other level..what’s next, the chairman of the Watchtower Society?…

  22. LB Bryant knew he wasn’t center stage…he was either lying about his role of trying to bate some conversation in some way. I personally think he wanted to draw out Elder Foster and others in some way…I believe this was done on purpose.

So far as the other speaker, he was better than Bryant from what I understand and observed. He didn’t preach 7th day adventism, and in addtion to that, If we are christians and maintain essentials of the faith, why does one have to line up with us doctrinally before one can address the bible? I mean last I knew 7th dayers were Christians right?

now this drives home another issue, some reformers (traditionalists) wouldn’t allow me a pentecostal to address them from the word…I feel that’s ashame. I know the word and do study it diligently even IF I don’t agree with their interpretives, but I also know enough to not try to indoctrinize someone just because I speak at their church, it’s called charity and love and kindness…

This man is a Christian, lives right, embraces the bible as authority, then debate him over nonessential theology, but don’t become unChristlike (in my opinion)because he doesn’t embrace your doctrine…Now, Gomes was a TOTALLY different story. He embraces and promotes the homosexual agenda and a host of other godless and antibiblical issues, but Barry Black doesn’t.

If there’s a criticism of Black it’s contained within the thought that America is actually a Christian Nation and the gov’t is ordained and sanctioned of and by God…That’s the fault but even that we can work with, can’t we? I men we do with others who have no association with COGIC, why not with this fella?

  23. Youre right, doctrinally, the SDA was pretty much on point. I looked at their doctrine last night. Im not sure about the prophecy via Mary Eddy Baker issue. I have several very good friends (SDA Elders) and I have never heard one ounce of false teaching come from them. Personally, I have ZERO problem with church/sabbath on Sat as opposed to Sun. There may be other issues I would immediately part company on but nothing jumps out right away.

Pastor Burnett I do have a question though concerning reciprocal, cross faith appearances. Others may be wondering the same thing. Is the issue NOT saying anything about your doctrine (if its false) when you speak at another’s church or is it just a matter what that person represents even if they say nothing about it at all? For instance, the PAW had a big row recently about inviting Trinitarian speakers to the conferences. I agree with you about “nonessentials”, so Im not sure most folks are aware what essentials and nonessentials are.

    Thanks.

  24. Seventh Day Adventistism and Jehovah’s Witnesses/Watchtowerites are branches of the same tree..would you invite a JW elder to preach at your church?..this is more than just me and you having different interpretations about whether or not women should wear pants based on Leviticus…we are talking about extra-biblical doctrine…check out the Investigative Judgment in their writings..Jesus was supposed come back in 1844..and when He didnt come back, they came up with the doctrine of the Investigative Judgment…similar to the Watchtower spinning their many false predictions of Jesus return…

  25. Elder Foster,

You asked, “Is the issue NOT saying anything about your doctrine (if its false) when you speak at another’s church or is it just a matter what that person represents even if they say nothing about it at all?”

First, I think leadership has an obligation to only present those who live and walk truthfully or biblically. 7th day sin is no worse than Lutheran or Baptist sin. No greater either. Secondly, leadership is charged with maintaining the spiritual growth of the flock. If the person coming in can’t add to God’s agenda then they shouldn’t be there.

What happens though when a Lutheran minister has a word for the congregation and all you can see is that he’s a Lutheran? One can miss God looking at organization etc or trying to scruitinize every word being a Methodist, Baptist or 7th Day word (etc) as opposed to a biblical word.

Djenk23 points to a practice within the 7th Day as being anthitethical to Christian doctrine and practice. I’m not sure if it’s CURRENT practice for them or not, BUT let’s do the same with Herbert Armstrong’s WWCOG. They wholesale changed their doctrine and practice some years ago. God brought a whole denomination from apostasy to the light…Is what they once espoused greater than what they affirm now? If we let their origin seperate us now that’s called a genetic fallacy and one must be careful because as with them, they’ve moved on into blessing and seek the true word of God…

Now we can look at JW’s, Mormons, Islam and all of those religions who CURRENTLY and openly and unashamedly espouse anti Christian and anti-biblical doctrines. Like I said I don’t know about 7 dayers and how their false phrophetic start causes them to CURRENTLY espouse and practice false doctrine but why throw away the biblical teachings of a minister because he’s associated with an organization which you question?

If that’s the case, I wouldn’t listen to any Presb, Lutheran, Anglican, Baptist and the list goes on…i could be like many and do this because “the bible tells me so” but I think brotherly love is in order…HOWEVER stand vehemently and strongly against anti or nonbiblical teachings and doctrines, but we must control our kneejerk reactions at times…I found that in me when he began to speak, BUT I heard the Word of the Lord and what God was saying to the church, and in my opinion, the brother said somethign that I believe that God sent.

    That’s my take anyway.

  26. Out of 24 years of live not once have I met a man or woman that was blameless. God tell us to b perfect in his eye sight and blameless but how many of u can honestly say u followed or followin is law to t pastor jamal bryant is a man not God how can u judge someone else and clearly tells u not to so with that say u r in rebellion against God and we all kno there’s no sin greater than the other. Instead of judgin him y not pray for him would Jesus our lord and saviour do that think about it ppl
