Gay actor opposes pedophile background checks

According to a report by Starpulse, Lord of the Rings star the homosexual activist Ian McKellen is on the record opposing background checks of pedophiles.

Ian McKellen has spoken out against Britain’s new anti-pedophile database, insisting the new scheme will dissuade amateur theaters from casting children. The Lord of the Rings star fears the Vetting and Barring Scheme, which requires any adult working with children to register and submit a background check, will result in limited roles for young performers.

Adults who don’t comply face a fine of up to $8,000 and a criminal record, which McKellen maintains is unnecessary in the world of amateur theater.

He says, “People are all there for the love of it – that’s what amateur means. It’s a very family atmosphere and there has never in the last 50 years been any hint of wrongdoing, and so it’s trying to put right a problem that doesn’t really exist. If children are no longer allowed, as it were, to perform with amateur groups the loss is everybody’s.”

McKellen claims small companies are struggling to cope with the costs and extensive paperwork, adding, “There are so many people who seem to have an input into this new legislation that have been consulted, and people who haven’t yet been consulted are the people whom it’s going to directly affect.”

How silly, foolish and reckless could a person be? Pedophiles look for the least path of resistance to get to vulnerable children. Don’t hold your breath waiting for any gay leaders to get upset and distance themselves from him. After all the founder of the modern gay rights movement was the gay pedophile activist Harry Hay. That’s history you shouldn’t forget.

If you remember, several months ago McKellen kicked up atheism dust by revealing that he hated the bible so much he intentionally ripped out pages containing passages about homosexuality.

Let’s recap: Oppose protecting children from pedophiles because it will discourage amateur acting and you hate the bible so much you desecrate it. What’s next McKellen, be a spokesman for acceptance of bestiality?

  1. Since nobody is born gay the homosexuals have to turn the kids out as young as possible. Without laying down direct accusations, let me just hit that there are quite a few people in the hollywood/music industry who are members of Alister Crowley’s group OTO. Crowley wrote books about molesting children to gain influence.
Actors are notorious for being sexually immoral, like McKellen…..

  2. Robert, fear-monger much?

This whole post is a pretty desperate attempt just to drop the words “gay” and “pedophile” in the same sentence, so everyone can shake their heads in unison. Sir Ian, or anyone, is perfectly justified in a small grumble at Big Government for imposing a costly bureaucracy upon amateur groups who probably never turn a profit. It has nothing to do with being pro-unfetted access to children for sexual purposes.

What if this meant that churches couldn’t put on a Christmas production without first submitting applications for every actor and stagehand? It’s just a complication, which even for a good reason, gets in the way.

  3. Desperate attempt?

    1. Ian McKellen, not this blog, opposed the law to screen for pedophiles.
    2. Its a law to do background checks for pedophiles, not toy salesmen.
    3. Ian McKellen is openly gay.
    4. The Star Pulse is the source.
    5. Had McKellen never opposed the law to screen pedophiles, this blog post would have never existed.

So your point is if a major actor who make its a point to tell the whole world he’s gay, then opposes a law to stop pedophile access to children in an industry he champions, no one should say anything about it?

Where did you purchase your logic?

  4. if churches WERE required to check the background of folk who work with their children, perhaps it would be helpful in decreasing abuse that happens IN the church. unfortunately, we haven’t done even a fair job of ensuring these abuses don’t happen, considering how much churches spend on sex abuse cases (i.e. COGIC spends up to $900,000 annually).

  5. Nick that’s a good comparison. While McKellen is jawjacking about the theater not doing background checks on potential pedophiles, churches are for the most part doing so. What makes him think that children in that industry dont deserve the same safeguards? To me it smacks of devaluing children. Is it because he’s ungodly? Is it because he’s gay? Is it a combination of both? Perhaps. But the hard truth is children deserve all the protection they can get from predatory adults, no matter what industry, religious or secular. What person with a soul would argue against that because it would “discourage” participation in the theater??

  6. Hmm, maybe Mr. Ian is afraid that some secret truth(s) about himself could be uncovered…Why doest thou kick against the goads? Must be hard…

  7. lolwut, I go to a church that requires every person whoworks in any aspect of children’s ministry be members of the church for at least 6 months and pass a background check. This necessary complication is a measure to protect our children, for which there is no cost too high.

  8. Amen, gcmwatch and Yolanda. No cost is too high to protect the safety of our children.

The Lord of the Rings protagonist has contributed enough to the delusion and the godlessness of family and children.

  9. Ian is known for his fondness for young, young men. The manchild who is so immature and afraid of growing old that he melds his perverted sexuality with young lovers (prostitutes essentially.) He feels that since he has had commercial success, he can very publicly oppose a common sense law that is only aimed at the guilty. In doing so, he only confirms that gays are forcibly recruitied and made, not born. I classify his comments with Hollywood’s support of Roman Polanski – the deception that genius and sexual perversion go hand in hand. Well, people aren’t falling for it. Ian is now enjoying wide commercial success after a brilliant career in the theatre. I wonder if his success suffers as a result of his boycott of his movies due to his promotion of pedophile protection, will he last, or will he commit suicide like Alexander McQueen (whose death is being shoved down our throats in the media as if he were a beacon of humanity)?

  10. I wonder if his success suffers as a result of his boycott of his movies due to his promotion of pedophile protection

    I mean:
I wonder if his success will suffer as a result of a boycott against his movies due to his promotion of protection of pedophiles

  11. I think it should Ina. Anyone who would oppose measures to protect children from pedophiles cant be far from being one himself.

  12. This is one brazen man! I pray that his words serve as a wake-up call to parents, keep your children away from him and others that share his beliefs. Our children are subjected to enough foolishness in school that expose them to ungodly living. Enough already!

  13. Hmmm… I do see Sir McKellen’s point, but I must agree that the children must be protected, even to the detriment of the acting companies.

That said, I cannot help but think that the blog author is insinuating a connection between pedophilia and homosexuality by his/her choice to post this story on this website, so prominitely named the “gay christian movement watch.”

But perhaps I am wrong and you are merely a concerned watchdog. If so, then very good.

Peace, love and joy upon you all.
