For the Love of Money and Same-Sex Marriage

Although the people of California voted yes on Proposition 8 to ban same-sex marriages, the battle still rages on in the homosexual community to make it legal.  But the battle involves more than just gays and lesbians fighting for and gaining the right to marry both in California and elsewhere. Believe it or not, economics is now playing strong role in the same-sex marriage.  How, you ask?  Through the wedding industry!  If same-sex marriages were legalized everywhere the wedding industry would experience an economic increase through the onslaught of new homosexual clients.  Let me explain…

Forbes Magazine’s online article on June 16th, 2009, estimated that the financial impact gay weddings would have if legalized nationally, would add up to a whooping $9.5 billion if you added engagement rings, banquet halls, wedding dresses, and honeymoons. This would most definitely have a financial impact in our country.  But is it really worth the cost of selling our morality for the almighty dollar?

In the June 15th, 2008 online article, “California Boosted by Gay Marriage Bonanza,” the University of California at Los Angeles did a study stating that the same-sex marriage industry would create 2,100 new jobs.  In addition, the spending of same-sex residences would boost the economy by $683.6 million dollars.  Analysts also feel that California would have a monopoly on the same-sex marriage industry and would cause a boom in tourism business.

When gay activists believed that Proposition 8 would be defeated cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Palm Springs were ready to market themselves as gay-friendly wedding destinations.  Jack Kyser, the Senior Vice President and Chief Economist of the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation, said that same-sex marriages would lift local tourist sectors as fears of recession gripped the tourist industry.

First Timothy 6:10 says, “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through many sorrows.” Many lobbyist and politicians are influenced by money these homosexual groups pump into their pockets.  In return these wayward politicians come up with gay-friendly laws and get bills passed through the state and federal governments. It’s all about the Benjamin’s!  The love of money has made these judges, lobbyist, politicians; businesses sell out their morals to the “dolla’ dolla’” bill. The fact is this: behind the wicked collaboration of homosexuals, attorneys, lobbyist, judges, and politicians there is the love of the money same-sex marriages can introduce into the national economy.

Today, Hollywood does an excellent job promoting homosexual lifestyle through movies and television. Let’s remember that Sodom and Gomorrah were prosperous cities in their time.  But despite their prosperity, God still judged them for their unrighteousness.  In the days of the Prophet Jeremiah, Judah was prosperous nation but backslidden from God.  Jeremiah tried to tell the nation to repent and return back to God. However his words fell on deaf ears.  Judah trusted more in their riches and they were eventually judged and taken into Babylonian captivity.

  1. I’ve read somewhere that the average gay male couple (when they are together) makes more money than a normal couple because of the two salaries of the men. So yeah the economy wants to cash in this miserable lifestyle choice and exploit those who are in spiritual need of Christ.

  2. I’m not surprised at all because it’s ALWAYS about the money! I’ve been doing extensive study on homosexuality (medical, social, economic, biblical), and everyone wants to get some of that gay $$$ – the tourist industry (since gays/lesbians have more disposible income & time), charities (more disposible income, plus most gays/lesbians (59%) have at least a bachelor’s degree), and unfortunately, even churches (larger tithes/offerings, more time to volunteer). I’m learning that everytime the world starts to push for something, we ought to see who’s getting paid behind the scene.

  3. …Not to mention the fact that some churches now see a benefit in positioning (and marketing) themselves as “gay friendly”, as a way of attracting new members. Of course, the potential tithe and offering money from these gay couples offers a financial bonanza these churches find too enticing to ignore. At the end of the day it comes down to just plain old greed. They love the almighty dollar more than the Almighty God. Quite sad.

  4. Quoting Robert:

“I’ve read somewhere that the average gay male couple (when they are together) makes more money than a normal couple because of the two salaries of the men.”

    Isn’t that interesting.

  5. Robert, that’s an interesting fact I’d heard previously,so I decided to look it up… and I found the numbers to be pretty eye-opening.
From an online article I found dealing with the topic:

    # For gay men, the median household income is $83,000 per year (gay singles $62,000; gay couples living together $130,000), almost 80% above the median U.S. household income of $46,326, according to US census data.
    # 40% of gay men reported household incomes in excess of $100,000 per year.
    # For lesbians, the median household income is $80,000 per year (Lesbian singles $52,000; Lesbian couples living together $96,000)
    # 36% of lesbians reported household incomes in excess of $100,000 per year.

  6. Everyone has made valid points. If you checkout the article and book by homosexual activist Marshall Kirk and Hunter Madsen, they had outlined homosexual agenda in 1987 article called “Overhauling of Straight America” and a 1989 book titled “After the Ball.” Both these publications gave six point strategy to change American public perception of homosexuality.

Point six of the homosexual agenda was to solicit funds: get major corporate American companies and foundations to support homosexual cause. These corporations and foundations funnel millions of dollars into gay and lesbian groups, to fuel pro-homosexual laws through political legislation and the judicial system.

Both Jon and the Observer stated gays and lesbians have higher disposable income than the national average. Which is the truth.

In management positions 47% of homosexual men and 40% of lesbians hold professional or managerial jobs, more than twice the figure for the general population(alliancedefensefund.org)

As stated in the post Jesus, The Days of Noah and Same-Sex Marriage, same-sex marriage is big sign of the return of Jesus.

  7. A trick of Lucifer and tool of the Most High God. Even so, come Lord Jesus. May He find us ready.

  8. Homosexuals are of the world system why wouldn’t satan want to position his people in leadership, right?

Remember Saints the Anti-Christ will have no desire of a woman according the Daniel 11:37.

  9. Yes, I did a graduate paper circa 2004-05 on the wedding industry, and noted as the Forbes article you reference the acceptance of civil unions/gay marriage would be a boost in all of the sectors due to the discretionary income of homosexuals. At the time, the possibility of gay marriage still seemed far off, but how the world changes. Then in 2007-ish I was interviewed by one of the major travel websites to handle advertising for LGBT and AARP markets, and for all the LGBT community talk of how we’re all the same, I didn’t know their travel experience would be different than any one else’s, but I came to learn their locales and the entertainment of choice were specialized. I didn’t get that job.
Shofarsound, your comments on the homosexual agenda/corporate support mirrors what I have been reading lately about transgender transition policies of major companies. Out of curiosity, I fell onto the company I work for under contract, a major multi-national health insurer (which is funny with all the internal conservative talk, that surgery is still not covered by most companies but I’m sure one of these health care bill revisions will have it wedged in somewhere – congress will have to vote either cover abortion or someones sex change), intranet site regarding their LGBT policies. While the number of people who make the transition each year is relatively small compared to the number of employees that may have babies, adopt, decide to care for an aging relative, or any of the other criteria that qualifies for FMLA, the support for employees under going gender reassignment – not necessarily the time off with pay, etc – but the internal departmental, corporate, support is waaaaaay better for transgenders than a pregnant/new mommy. I bring this up because the leaders/forerunners in this area corporately are JP Morgan Chase (w/several other large banks), IBM, AT&T, Johnson & Johnson…and this will trickle down to their vendors and suppliers if they want to stay in the game.

  10. To shofarsound; One of the reasons that the homosexual community has been so successful is their tactic of marketing themselves as “victims” to the public. The book that you mentioned, “After The Ball” also instructs gay activists on how to win over the public. One of the strategies suggested (and I may not be quoting this exactly but I’m going to try anyway) is to almost always portray gays as helpless victims always in need of protection, and by reflex we’re expected to offer protection to these supposed “victims”. This tactic, if it weren’t so effective, would be laughable given what you’ve just revealed. And I’ll say something else; there’s a lot about the gay rights community/drive or whatever that’s not being revealed. For instance, the UN is behind this things (gay rights , I mean) all the way and it’s worldwide. This isn’t about human rights or civic rights or anything of the kind. This is about changing our whole perception of reality and perhaps indirectly what it means to be fully human. It’s just a pity we don’t realize what we’ve got until it’s gone.

  11. Don’t be too quick to believe the hype! The truth is that the projected $9.5billion to be earned from gay-related weddings etc cannot plug a decent hole in the $13 trillion dollar national debt. Plus, this $9.5billion input, if received, would only be
for a specific period say 1 – 2 years? So what happens after that? Oh yes, parents could generate new income by selling sexual access to their children………… Welcome to the devil’s economy!

  12. Marriage is one of the most sacred ceremonies that we humans experience. Being married also gives us happines.’,*
