"Transgender women" and the Bible

by shofarsound

Transform Me PicThe new VH1 show, “Transform  Me” hit the airwaves on March 15, 2010.  In it, three transgender women, Laverne Cox, Jamie Clayton and Nina Poon,  give naturally-born women  beauty/fashion makeovers. The women who sign up are ultimately shocked to receive their fashion makeover by these former men.   They travel around the country answering “style 911 calls” in their fashion ambulance.

The homosexual agenda is blatantly carried out by this type of show.  How, you ask?

It bombards the public through television media and excessively talks about gays and gayness in order to persuade those to accept transgender and homosexuality.  The show also makes gays look good and utilizes the medium of  television entertainment as a homosexual/transgender evangelistic  tool.  The images reach into homes and  change the overall opinion that the behavior and lifestyle is normal.

questionOne may ask what made three males change their sex to females?  The world system declares there are five genders: heterosexual men, heterosexual women, homosexual men, homosexual women, and transsexuals or transgender (those who undergo sex change operations).  Not only do the opinions and philosophies of the world system influence individuals to undergo sex-change operations, it also reinforces the vain imaginations of a individual to desire to have a sex change. A perverse spirit deceives them into receiving the satanic lie that they are really a woman inside of a man’s body or man trapped inside a woman’s body.

How would one deal with transgender people and the Word of God from a biblical Judeo-Christian view?  We just can’t stop at Romans 1:27 or Leviticus 18:22.  However, Deuteronomy 23:1 says, ” He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord.”  The Word of God takes a stance against the sons of the children of Israel to not engage in in practice of Baal and Asherah.  They were not to perform worship that involved males crushing their testicles between two rocks and castrating themselves to transform into female priestesses of Asherah called Qedshtu. These transsexuals would engage in anal sex (sodomy) with other male worshipers, or ritualistic sex acts with artificial phalli.  These castrated  men lived, dressed, and acted like they were female.

The ancient pagan nations across the world reflect transsexual women.  This can be seen in ancient Babylonian kurgarru where  individuals called the muxe of the Yucantan of Mexico, the hijra (even currently) in South Asia. The ancient gallae of Greek and Roman society were priestesses of the goddess Cybele.  These “priestesses” were males who castrated themselves with a knife, sword, or a sharp object. They also wore women’s clothing, danced in a femmine manner, wore their hair like a female, spoke like a female, perfumed themselves, and behaved in ways of women of that time [source].

Under the dispensation of the Mosaic Law, a male who purposely castrated himself or crushed his testicles could not enter into the congregation of the Lord.  However, under the dispensation of Grace, a person who has fallen for the satanic lie and deception to believe God made a mistake when assigning their biological gender  need to first repent before they can enter the kingdom of God.  It takes more than just to believe in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  After all,  the devils believe in one God and tremble (James 2: 19).  In addition, they cannot come snot-nosed and crying like that kind of fake repentence would move God.  Hebrews 12:16-17 says,

“Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.”

True repentance is a change in someone’s thinking and behavior from unrighteousness to righteousness.  In order to repent, one must totally abandon the practice of sin in one’s lifestyle.  Jesus, during his earthly ministry after forgiving someone of their sins, told them to go and sin no more.

A perfect example of someone repenting from living as a transgender person is KK Hofeling.  KK Hofeling had a sex change to become a transgender woman. KK, in late November of 2000, had a dream about going to Hell.   He awoke from the dream and heard the Lord say, “If you don’t repent, I have no choice but to send you there.”  After reading the scripture and experiencing dreams and visions, KK was 100 percent convinced that the Lord wanted him to revert back to being a male [source].

Shows like VH1’s, “Transform Me” are a satanic evangelistic programs to entice the world to believe a lie!  It is Satan’s attempt to glamorize perversion to further carry mankind down the road of eternal damnation. The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ must carry the life-giving evangelistic message to a dying world and rightly divide the Word.   The Church must tell the world that the power of God is more than capable of delivering a person from living as a transgender woman or transgender man.  1 Corinthians 6:9-11 says, “Know ye not that the unrighteousness shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind. Nor thieves, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall not inherit the kingdom of God?   And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and by the Spirit of our God.”  A transgender person cannot inherit the kingdom of God unless they first repent of their sins, and receive the gift of Salvation by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8).  It is only then that the Holy Spirit will regenerate and sanctify them.

Remember God created male and female (Genesis 1:27), don’t believe Satan’s lie of five genders male, female, gay, lesbian, and transgender you can lose your soul if you reject the truth of God’s Word.

  1. Whoa…I had read that scripture several times in the past years (about their entry into the temple being refused because of marred genitals) and had no idea that this was the background–a specific rebuke to a pagan practice that requires one to reject how God has made them. To reject your gender, and accept another is kinda like rejecting the image of God and thereby, rejecting God altogether…In Texas, we are now facing the issue of whether we should have a third bathroom for transgenders or not? Or if that’s discriminating–who would ever thought that this would be legislation under debate?

I love the testimony you included as well. If people with mutilated genitals were not allowed in the temple in the old testament; they also cannot be a member of the body of christ in our day, not without true repentance and true belief in Christ. Very insightful commentary, gcmwatch.

  2. Rogers this is DEFINITELY another serious challenge that is about to impact the church. Satan is using his “come in like a flood” tactic. We’d better shore up the loins of our minds.

The scripture in Duet 22:5 is also one of the more specific passages condemning so-called transgenderism, transvestism and that whole switcheroo type of gender confusion.

I agree in the as is state they cannot be accepted as members of the body of Christ. Im not talking about “the church” but the Body. However if a person repents of their sin, no matter what their sinful past is, they are to be accepted as part of the redeemed.

We need to set up ministries that will help these folks once they realize happiness they so desperately sought is not in a surgical tool and new opposite gender clothing.

  3. Pastor,

The closing statement of your comments, were extremely “heart” touching for me. Because I too feel the same way about these folks, who so desparately, as you said, need the life changing, love of Christ in there lives. Sometimes, we forget, what was afforded us on the Cross, was also afforded others, they have only to accept, as we did.

  4. I totally agree…they are looking for a happiness that is elusive.
I know of my father’s boss, who just recently been transgendered. My father says he is appalled that he has to call his boss by a woman’s name and has to be around this new identity in an all-male work environment. My father said that the person (who is a senior citizen, by the way) had did this all-of-the-sudden; got a sex change…but he mentioned that his boss comes in depressed all the time and the boss had said that he thought he would feel better about himself after the thousands spent on changing his gender. His wife had agreed to help him with his new gender years ago, but now she wants to leave…

So I felt sadness when you mentioned that comment about this change that actually will not fix some basic issues. You know, I understand that people in these lifestyles are being to a degree rebellious against God. But in some sense, they are also being duped by the enemy; and it makes you feel bad for them…kinda in the way someone was being jipped out of their retirement savings by some slick-talking con-artist

as the word says, men will wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived

  5. Wow, I learned something from reading this post regarding what the “bible” says about transgenderism (if that’s a word).
Thanks Shofarsound for this post as well as including your source.

The more informed we are as saints, the better we can effectively wwitness to such individuals with “sound biblical” doctrine as our foundation, thus praying that the Holy Spirit would convict such individuals leading them to repentance and accepting themselves in the “original” image that God made them to be.

  6. Speaking of the “transgender” madness, courtesy of the Fellowship (Yvette Flunder’s gay denomination) comes a “trans-revival”.

    Insanity.

  7. Pastor,

Well as some of us, were speaking about praying for these individuals, and I know we will not discontinue that, they would come out of darkness and into Christ’s marvelous light, alas here comes Satan.

  8. Tony he’s always lurking about. Since he is and probably reading this too just wanted to send him a message: Your kingdom is defeated and you are under our feet.

  9. 1 Timothy 4:1 comes to mind. These people who are having the transgender revival have departed from the faith, and have taken heed to seducing spirits, doctrines of devils. Individuals have a reprobate mind.

  10. “The ancient pagan nations across the world reflect transsexual women.”

VERY salient point and probably more than anything reflects a particular component of what Paul was speaking about in Romans 1. Idolatry and perverted sexuality go hand in hand. One’s loss or rejection of the sense of right and wrong (from God’s perspective) will inevitably lead to either self worship or of some self made deity.

And the ONLY solution is found in 1st Cor 6:11

Be washed, sanctified and justified by the Spirit of God.
But hey, isnt that the same solution for ALL who have sinned?

  11. Reality TV is not reality. Who only knows the things that these 3 men do under the cover of night or what is “visiting” them.

  12. Great stuff shofarsound, thanks!!

“Idolatry and perverted sexuality go hand in hand.”Truth!

The arguement is always that God had a problem with idolatry and not the acts themselves. That is ignorant and dismissive. I have asked many homosexuals that if everytime you see homosexuality in scripture it is coupled with idolatry how can you then take from that that it is a good thing. When God says not to let your children go through the fire, would it be acceptable to put children through the fire if it is not in idol worship?

I have long noticed the power of TV in making homosexuality seem a good thing. I used to watch “are you being served” growing up and the homosexual is very comedic. I started to notice a pattern of that in many TV shows. The homosexual is always very funny and easy to like. That desensitizes the masses to this evil as something that is non threatening and fun to be around.

Alice Bailey – step 8 and 10 of 10 (New World stategies)

    8. Use the Media to Influence Mass Opinion. Create mass opinion that is receptive to these values by using TV, film, the press etc. (NB what western believers call normal in the African church would be pornography).

10.Get the church to endorse every one of these nine strategies. Get the church to accept these principles and to say they’re OK (then legal ground is given for these values to get a foothold).

    http://omarcarter.com/2010/03/27/strategies-on-how-to-get-to-a-new-world-order/

    Lets be vigilant Church!!

  13. Paul N,

Your right about the influence of TV. The Church of Satan founder Anton Lavey stated that TV would be America’s new altar in the 1960s, and a vechicle to bring in filth.

Madonna was quoted in article by The Advocate back in 1991 if you keep on putting homosexuality in front of the of the people some would be disgusted by it, but maybe others unconsciously be aroused by it.

Ironically, Anton Lavey didn’t allow his kids to watch TV, and Madonna doesn’t allow her children to watch TV either. Both understood some of the evils of TV, and Satan use of TV. That is why parents need to monitor how much TV kids watch, and the content of the programs isn’t evil.

  14. I came to this discussion through CNN’s link re: Jennifer Knapp and while I’ll not lift a finger to defend the godless egomania upon which all so-called “Reality TV” thrives, I do wish to instill a thought into this thread.

At 46 years old I finally faced my debilitating, life-long fears and accepted my lot as a transsexual woman. Only then was I able to suddenly & immediately quit smoking, quit drinking, quit doing drugs and quit sleeping around. I left a successful 35 year career in media, became a church secretary who volunteers with seniors and appear unremarkably as just another step-mom at the school play. I became a Christian and committed to my first marriage, my first mortgage and am active in my church.

We all know God does NOT make mistakes, but He does watch as we attempt to manage our challenges, whatever they may be. I just wanted you all to know that the larger transsexual community is not by any means represented by the flashy/showy/sexy types one sees on TV. Rather, they may be nothing more than the tall woman you see buying produce at the market.

    Respectfully –

    Joan

  15. “joan” respectfully you have done nothing more than sanitize something that perverts the creative intent and order of God. Sorry there’s just no easier way to say it.

You have already accepted it as normal and right for you, but unless you repent of your sins, you stand in danger of losing your soul. Is it really worth it? Losing your soul over how you look on the outside?

Not only can God deliver you from the smoking, fear, drugs and promiscuity, he can deliver you from the confusion that still exists over your gender. Unfortuntely, you havent found that solution.

You can find all types of churches in America these days from white racist ones to gay affirming ones who will comfort and accept you in sin. Thats a sign of the times. But they are not the final arbitrators of your soul and your eternity.

Shofarsound has done an excellent work at laying out the inherent spiritual dangers of gender changes. Whether you assume the identity of an old woman at home or one on a “reality” TV show, sin remains the same.

I dont want your blood on my hands when I stand before God and I will not feign love and not tell you the truth. Its yours to accept or reject.

  16. joan, I’m with Pastor Foster 100%, I don’t want blood on my hands either. Galatians 4:16 says,” Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?” We tell you the truth in love that your soul my not be lost.

It wasn’t an accident you read this article. God is a just God, He provided you an avenue for you to receive the truth on the Word of God and transgender.

Did you not read the portion of the article of KK Hofeling testimony? This article was more than just talking about flamboyant transgender women on reality television. You missed the point!

Bottomline you have a free will. It is up to you to either receive or reject the truth.

  17. So what do you all think about intersexed individuals (people with both male and female genitals)? How do we assign a gender to these people? What about intersexed individuals who went through surgery as babies to (for example) become a “female” and later on in life say they always have felt like a male, so they go through the process to become female? This would seem as though gender had something to do with the soul and not the physical nature of the person. You can say God makes no mistakes. This is true. But if people are born with genitals of both sexes but they feel like a certain gender, then theoretically, couldn’t one be born physically as a female but feel like a man? I’m trying to add a bit of science to this discussion.

  18. shofarsound, its true we need to be vigilant as far as what our children watch, hopefully we are not desensitized to it.

How ironic that those who exploit TV with their perversion, dont allow their children to watch it. I also believe Russell Simmons does not allow his children to listen to the filthy Hip Hop however that is his claim to fame! Hypocrisy at the highest level.

Joan, as I read your comment the story of Martha and Mary came to me. The passage of scripture in which Martha is serving and is upset that Mary isnt “doing” anything but sitting at Jesus’ feet, Jesus’ response was that Mary was doing what was most important and most needed, simply sitting listening to what Christ had to say.

    http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke%2010:38-42&version=NKJV

You believe for your works sake God overlooks your sin but He doesnt. Christ would much prefer you stop all the works, repent and spend time in His word and prayer daily rather than using works as a bandage. You, as we all need to listen to what Christ is saying, not our “feelings”.

There is hope for you, repent and turn to Christ!!!

  19. Here’s a thought since I think Joan needs someone on her side. I think it takes an incredible amount of courage to admit that on a thread that obviously thinks what she has done is wrong. It seems to me a good tradeoff. No matter how I look at it it is much worse to smoke, drink, and do drugs than to change gender in order to be true to yourself.

Just curious, but who is this world system that recognizes five genders? I could’ve sworn that gays and lesbians were considered males and females.

  20. Amber, Jesus Christ IS on joan’s side. He gave his life so that he would not have to multilate his body and pretend to be a woman.

While we were YET SINNERS, Christ died for the ungodly.

His death and resurrection gave us life and freedom, not more confusion and bondage.

It is satan who is not on her side. His goal is to kill, steal and destroy. Right now, joan is in his crosshairs.

  21. Amber, to answer your question the United Nations recognizes the five genders under the International Bill of Gender Rights, also within some academic institutions teaches they’re five genders in the world(ie California State University has a class called Perspective on Gender that teaches this).

Here are some sources on five genders:

    http://www.meridianmagazine.com/ideas/010420gender.html

    http://inquirer.gn.apc.org/GDRights.html

    http://ses.library.usyd.edu.au/bitstream/2123/5323/1/DISSERTATION_LMorgan.pdf

You ask who is this world system? It is this current system that is under the control of Satan, which influences governments; entertainment; social morals; education; all aspects of human life. That is why Jesus stated that my kingdom is not of this world or satanic world system.

Maybe you should study 2 Corinthians 4:4; Ephesians 6:12; and 1 John 2:15-17.

  22. “No matter how I look at it it is much worse to smoke, drink, and do drugs than to change gender in order to be true to yourself.”

So in order to be true to oneself we should follow our feelings. Should the glutton eat all they want and get a stomach expansion procedure done since they “feel” like eating all the time, even if they end up weighing a ton?

What about the anorexic that “feels” and “sees” themselves as overweight, should they continue to starve themselves, eat and purge since the truth is thats how they feel. Should they reduce the size of their stomach in order to be “true to themselves”?

What about the black man who feels white inside, should he bleach his skin and get try to straigthen his hair because thats how he feels and he should be “true to himself”

Come on Amber, do you see where your idea “being true to oneself” will lead.

Its all sin and perversion, people need to turn to Christ abd be delivered.

  23. gcmwatch et al,

I looked at the article you referenced that “pretty much covered” the intersex issue. You say those born with both genitalia must choose a gender. What about intersex people who don’t feel like choosing a gender? What about if they sincerely feel most authentic expressing androgyny, for whom choosing to live as a man or as a woman would be an inauthentic expression of themselves? The commandment “thou shalt not bear false witness” would suggest living androgynously would be the most Godly lifestyle for such a person.

There is no blaming God when questions are asked regarding the status of intersexed people according to the Bible. The intersexed are created in the image of God like everyone else.

People here talk about surgeries to change genitalia for transsexual people being wrong, being against God’s plan. What about people born with cleft palates who choose to have corrective surgeries? Are the recipients of cleft palate corrective surgery rejecting how God created them?

Also, if homosexuality in principle is immoral, then why does Leviticus not prohibit lesbianism in the same section it prohibits male sodomy? Jewish people didn’t have the book of Romans to condemn lesbians. Does that mean that lesbians were okay before Jesus?

  24. Anne, thanks for your questions.

I hope you havent already made up your mind before I respond. But here it is…
Please understand this is from a biblical perspective to people who hold God’s word as the source of truth and guidance for their lives.

You asked What about intersex people who don’t feel like choosing a gender?
God requires that we operate and live as he created us, either male or female. Not both. He created genders each with a uniqueness and that uniqueness shouldnt be smudged because of selfish feelings. The issue isnt that a person is born with an observable physical malady (intersexed) but what they should do with that. I believe they should decide (with a expert’s help) which gender more closely represents who they are and would like to live their lives as and then do what is necessary to live as one gender or the other.

You asked What about if they sincerely feel most authentic expressing androgyny, for whom choosing to live as a man or as a woman would be an inauthentic expression of themselves?

Androgyny is not for followers of Christ. Its an unauthentic expression gender expression not to mention confusing if not downright misleading to other people.

You asked What about people born with cleft palates who choose to have corrective surgeries? Are the recipients of cleft palate corrective surgery rejecting how God created them?

There’s differences and simularities. First, there’s nothing wrong with having surgery to repair a cleft palate. Its apples and oranges to something like intersex which could intensely affect one’s sexual and gender identities. Please understand that God didnt “create” anyone with a cleft palate. Its wrong to assume that. Its a birth/genetic deformity that should be corrected if possible. Likewise God didnt “create” anyone as intersexed. It too is a deformity which should be corrected.

You asked Also, if homosexuality in principle is immoral, then why does Leviticus not prohibit lesbianism in the same section it prohibits male sodomy? Jewish people didn’t have the book of Romans to condemn lesbians. Does that mean that lesbians were okay before Jesus?
Homosexuality is not simply wrong “in principle”. It is sin is all aspects and manifestations. It nor any of its manifestations whether in the mind or acted out in behavior, is ever justified in the eyes of God. Having said that, its rather simplistic —if not disengenuous— to think- that because a the female gender wasnt mentioned in Leviticus, it is somehow okay due to omission. The scriptures are one. And whether it is condemned in Leviticus or Romans it applies to all who engage in sexual acts with the same gender.

  25. gcmwatch,

My responses are below. These are not idle questions I ask – I know people born intersex. Usually their life stories have horrible and tragic elements ***not because they are naughty sinful people who enjoy torturing people’s sensibilities, but because others have made them suffer needlessly, because of misunderstanding/fear/anger/hate/violence against their God-given intersex condition***.

    ————

You said, “God requires that we operate and live as he created us, either male or female. Not both.”

I’m not going to debate the intersex conditions (bodies having both male and female characteristics) that babies have been *diagnosed to have* after birth. There are books in public libraries and bookstores and university libraries and so on that describe this anywhere from layman’s terms to language that only a specialist with half a dozen medical degrees would understand.

No matter whether we’re talking about intersex, cleft palate, or whatever condition, God makes each of us the way we are, when we emerge from the womb. Mankind has not yet (thankfully) figured out how to modify a healthy person’s body in the uterus to be configured the way parents or society wants. So, all the credit for how a person is born is due to God. Why is this difficult to accept? What about the following verse from Psalms, “For YOU created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful I know that full well.” Psalm 139: 13-14?

GCMW: So let’s use your logic. Does God make pedophiles the way they are?

    ————

You said, “I believe they should decide (with a expert’s help) which gender more closely represents who they are and would like to live their lives as and then do what is necessary to live as one gender or the other.”

What is the Scriptural basis for this?

GCMW: Its based on God’s creation of two distinct genders: male and female. Any medical/biological aberration of that should be corrected if at all possible.

    ————

You said, “Androgyny is not for followers of Christ. Its an unauthentic expression gender expression not to mention confusing if not downright misleading to other people.”

I go straight to the gospel of Matthew, chapter 19. Jesus himself says some eunuchs are born that way, and he approved of them. If Christ embraced eunuchs, who are by birth androgynous, then so should his followers.

And again, why does the verse from Psalms *not* apply to infants born with an intersex condition? Since God made the intersex person as they are, it is *selfish* to accuse such person of misleading and confusing others. Blaming others for the discomfort one experiences around someone with an unusual condition has never been a very respectable excuse for one’s own fear-based behavior in any honorable society.

GCMW: A eunuch is a man who has had his sexual organs removed. An androgynous person is someone who appears to be neither male nor female. Dont confuse the two.

    ————

You said, “Please understand that God didnt “create” anyone with a cleft palate. Its wrong to assume that. Its a birth/genetic deformity that should be corrected if possible. Likewise God didnt “create” anyone as intersexed. It too is a deformity which should be corrected.”

Why does “[God] knit me together in my mother’s womb” not mean that God knit together an intersex person’s ambiguous genitals as He did, while that person was in their mother’s womb? Knitting that way = making that way. Therefore, God made the intersex person the way they are.

GCMW: you have convoluted logic overlaid with inapplicable scripture. It reminds me of a horse riding a giraffe backwards.

    ————

You said, “… its rather simplistic —if not disengenuous— to think- that because a the female gender wasnt mentioned in Leviticus, it is somehow okay due to omission. The scriptures are one. And whether it is condemned in Leviticus or Romans it applies to all who engage in sexual acts with the same gender.”

It is not disingenuous at all. Both the Jewish scriptures and the Christian book of Revelation express these sentiments. Deuteronomy 4:2 admonishes neither to subtract-from nor *add-to* the teachings God has given. Proverbs 30:5-6 similarly says, “Add thou not unto [God’s] words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.” In the Christian New Testament, Revelations 22:18-19 warns like the Deuteronomy verse, above, not to add to nor subtract from the teachings given.

In the times before Jesus but after the giving of the Jewish scriptures, why, then, should lesbianism have been considered wrong if it were not expressly prohibited in what, during those times, were considered the totality of Scripture? To have lived in 200 B.C. and to have said it should be prohibited would have meant *adding to* scripture, which Scripture prohibits.

Lesbianism is homosexuality. It is not prohibited by the Jewish scriptures. Therefore, before Jesus’ time, homosexuality was not prohibited.

“Man lying with man” was prohibited in Leviticus, but the Pentateuch also admonishes one not to wear an article of clothing of two different types. Cotton/sheep’s-wool blends don’t strike me as obviously morally decadent. Also, I don’t see too many Christians wearing tzitzit (garments with fringes) like Jews do during their worship servies, or avoiding pork and non-fish/non-scale seafood. So in pre-Jesus times, by this line of reasoning, a man lying with a man is not morally decadent. He only violated a ritual law. How many of the Old Testament’s ritual laws do you observe? Do you offer animal sacrifices at the Temple? So if “man lying with man” was not morally decadent before Jesus, why is it all the sudden morally decadent after Jesus? God sure likes to change His mind a lot, doesn’t he?

GCMW: Again, your thinking and reasoning makes sense only to a darkened mind seeking to find fault with the harmony and integrity of the scripture. No such ideology you have managed to get out has any theological credibility. There is no “jewish scripture”, or “Christian new testament” and “Christian book of Revelation”. The word of the Lord is one (John 1:1-3) Your creation, your senselessness and your wrong conclusion. Thanks for your comments, foolish as they are. We’re ready to move on now.

  26. Hello, first of all I would like to thank you for your web site. I had found your site to be very informative; however, some of your comments have left me with more questions than answers.

For example, you had stated that if a person is born intersexes then they have a right to choose the sexual organs that they feel most comfortable with; because they have “observable physical abnormalities”. You have also stated that since a transgender individual does not have an “, observable physical abnormalities” they are to live the way the world perceived them and it is a sin too live with the sexual organs that they feel most comfortable with.

My question is this, is it at all possible for a human to be more than the sum of his/her parts? After all God has made us in his likeness (we have a soul, body “flesh” and a spirit ; God is the father, son and the holy ghost “spirit”). However, we only see the body. Is possible that there is something there that we can’t see? I can’t see God and yet I know he is here. As a person ok a Tran’s person I have been seeking answers to these questions my whole life (and yes I have prayed for deliverance form this “but it hasn’t came” some say it is because I am not sinning). I have studied both sides of the debate (that is why I’m here) and it is funny how both sides use the same verses to support their views. However, you are the only person who had tried answering the question about intersexes people and you had made a theory based on what you can see. There is one person who believed that gender identity could be taught to someone. An intersex child was made into a boy and she was not told of that; however, the child was brought up as a boy live as a boy and died as a boy. The child committed suicide at the age of thirty because she believes that she was a girl. That is just one story of thousands that tells me that there is more to gender than what we can see and by your words that child could had changed with you blessing.

Don’t get me wrong I don’t know which is one is right and I don’t claim to. What I do know is that bible states the he (God) made us male and female and I know that I am female (not both just one). Let us not forget Jesus said the most important commandments are Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind. And to Love others much as you love yourself. That tells me that God cares more about our hearts than anything else.

  27. Amber, let’s see if we can clear this up for you. And thank you for visiting with your questions.

First you asked: is it at all possible for a human to be more than the sum of his/her parts?

Yes, indeed. Thats what so tragic about “transgenderism” is that they make it all about their body parts they feel “uncomfortable” with. My response is you are fine the way God created you so why have your sexual organs cut off and take dangerous hormone shots and use fake body parts, etc etc to present yourself as something you are not?

Read the story of former transgender Darrell Thompson. There is nothing good about the terrible changes a man forces his body to undergo in order to appear as a woman.

In the case of intersex, my guidance was based on a general understanding of God’s intent for sexual expression. I do not penalize the person born with dual organs no more than I would a person born with one leg. However, you cannot (as a Christian) use that observable physical abonormalty to commit sin. And its not right for a person to have sex with both genders. They should (on their own accord) choose which gender best fits them and live that way.

Youre right Amber Jesus said the most important command is to love. But dont forget the word “important” signifies priority. Thus, loving God and others is not the only command. Sexual integrity and right sexual expression are also part of the commands upon the lives of Christian and you cannot negate that with love.
