DL Foster guests on Black Enterprise show

October was a very busy month for me and some of the “fruits” of those engagements are coming out. Earlier this month I had the privilege to guest on a roundtable on homosexuality and the black community on Black Enterprise’s newly revamped show Our World with Marc Lamont Hill. Thanks to Marc for having me on and to the other guests for a great discussion.

The two other guests were NY lesbian activist Stacyann Chin and Atlanta physician Dr. David Malebranche. The segment was surprisingly feisty. Watch for yourself.

  1. Stacyann fights for everyone to be who they are and to say what they want unless they espouse the belief that homosexual behavior is sinful. This notion of reducing tolerance to affirming every preferred lifestyle is sickening. In addition, Stacyann must believe that displaying passion about one’s beliefs is more important than the nature of one’s beliefs. In point of fact, she created lot of heat with her emotional responses, but very little insight from substantive arguments.

  2. Stacyann’s responses imply that she is an advocate of tolerance in the contemporary sense, that is, she champions the notion that every preferred lifestyle should be affirmed.

Unfortunately, she abandons this notion of tolerance when it comes to individuals who view homosexual behavior as sinful on theological grounds.

  3. COGIC Brother, I would have to agree with you on that one. Seems to me she was advocating the same thing I was but she didnt want include me as a beneficiary of it.

  4. Pastor Foster’s presence as a “former gay man” was very offensive to the other guests because his presence proved that people can change and that sexual orientation is a choice. That is not insignificant to homosexuals who would have us believe that they were born that way. Just by showing up and stating that I “used to be” was an indictment against them. They were very combative and hostile even though he never directly accused them of anything.

Malebranche wanted to move the conversation beyond “is gay a choice or not” because it is a discussion that they cannot win. He very eruditely declared the question passé just to get it off the table. The question is not passé, the argument is simply lost because the answer to the question, D. L. Foster, is sitting right there in your face.

Stacyann Chin decided that passé was not a strong enough way to quash the argument, so she said it was irrelevant. In other words, since they lost that point in the debate then the point does not matter. They sidestepped the question by declaring it moot. Instead, Malebranche wanted to talk about “why people choose not to be who they are.” What people? That was a swipe at Pastor Foster. Those two could not make any points so they resorted to raising their voices and personal attacks.

  5. Pastor DL,

Please explain to me something and let me know if i am right or wrong. We should never discriminate against one’s choice and if that person can do a job, i.e. teacher, police, lawyer, doctor, and not let their sexual preference get in the way of their work or our respect towards them. Here is the difficulty in that. People that are “out” and are gay cannot really separate work or other things from who they are because they try and dump their beliefs on us who believe in the bible and what it says. After watching the 7 minutes of this i wasn’t sure what Stacyann or David was arguing. If the show was on our religious standpoint then it would be very east to show them scripture…The LGBT agenda is getting bolder and more powerful each day. They try and cast their views on us and force it down our throats like we are suppose to give in to this mess. never!!! If i sin, whatever the sin may be the bible is still right. I don’t justify my sin based on how i interpret scripture(my own agenda) I really feel sorry for these who believe as Dr. David said, “if you are who you are then be you”. WOW…What a powerful and evil statement in 2010 as it relates to sexuality. I’m yet praying…Keep crying and spare not pastor. I have heaven in my view.

  6. Pastor DL,

In as perfect world we could respect those who are LBGT, because they separate job etc from their beliefs…but we do not live in a perfect world… Do you respect people who are LGBT????But not respect what they do???

  7. Bro. T,

I know that this was directed at Pastor DL, but I wanted to chime in as well. We should certainly respect LGBT persons because they are image bearers (albeit marred, like us); however, this does not mean that we have to affirm their lifestyles or agree with their positions on matters of human sexuality.

  8. I just love the way they twisted up your words, when you clearly stated your stance and the Truth…What I thought was funny, is how they decided not use the constitution to invoke their gay rigths. All because you had agreed with Constitutional rights…lol..She was a scary poet…filled with so much anger…when you never once asked her to change…lol…All in All, keep doing what ur doing…Praise God…

  9. COGIC Brother

Yes you are right. That is what the LGBT want. They want us to affirm them and their lifestyles. Many are almost bullies when it comes to disagreement of their lifestyles.

  10. I agree 100% COGIC Brother. People are created in the image of God and bear his likeness, thus they are worthy of respect. My point with the constitutional angle was that I do not support firing gay people from their jobs, kicking them out of their homes, taking away or denying them their “inalienable” rights as citizens and using their homosexuality as the sole criteria for doing so. There is no justification for such things. Spiritually there is no justification for hating homosexuals. Just like I draw my support for common rights solely from a constitutional perspective, I draw my opposition to homosexual as appropriate expression of sexuality solely from the Bible. The caveat is that my stark disagreement with the morality of same sex relationships is not hate, no more than their stark disagreement with my position. Or at least I hope so. However, as I see it, all rights are not “inalienable” rights per the constitution. Marriage is not a right, it is a privelege and that is why the state bars many categories of people from getting married with official state sanction. We do know that all these laws and barriers will eventually be struck down as the man of lawlessness makes his way out of the shadows to plunge this world into chaos.

  11. @CogicBrother & DL
It also shows she has read this site and she is ready to shut Pastor Foster down at jump. Everybody else on the panels face muscles have tensed up several times in this video. Why do the heathen rage…?

  12. Pastor Foster:
Hello from an old friend from Cathedral. Glad to know you are still fighting the good fight! I love how you stood your ground, were relevant with the times/issues at hand and did not let the spirit of anger that the other two individuals have overtake you!

This young lady and the so called “physician” are very angry individuals….my heart truly goes out to people trapped in the lies of this world and this age…maybe that’s why they are so angry to begin with. They know they are snared and trapped…they truly don’t know they can break free.

  13. Isn’t that the guy from that show you did on TV one? The AIDS researcher/doctor?

I haven’t seen this clip of your doing this show…but what I remember about this guy, is how shocked I was, that someone who was an AIDS researcher had to be such an avid proponent of gay rights.

I’m a researcher at the university, and I remember years a go when a lot of funding came up to do AIDS research–I turned it down and I feel like that was God. Can you imagine, the camel you have to swallow or eventually will be induced to swallow, by even saying that you do this type of work?

It was quite an eye-opener to the kind of agendas that go unquestioned in some areas of society…

GCMW: Yes, he is the same one.

  14. hello Sis Melody, what a wonderful surprise! God bless you and thank you so much. I give all due credit to God for opening doors and providing me a spot to say in so many words He is Real and his radical power to change is real. I dont think either of the other two panelists profess salvation, so I do understand their limited mindset in terms of change, etc. The carnal mind cannot comprehend the things of God. I was in that exact same place many years ago. But only God can open blinded spiritual eyes. So I praise HIM for that!

I do want to say that Dr. Malebranche is a physician by profession and I think that he is a good one. We definitely disagreed on some fundamentals about sexuality but I dont want anyone disparaging his profession that he has earned.

  15. Wow Pastor Foster this was rather feisty, lol you maintained a good Christian disposition and like someone said earlier your very presence there was a slap in the face. You said everything needed. I was this….now I am not anymore!!! Great Witness!!!

  16. The lesbian went in attack mode immediately, simply by having a True man of God in the room. Maybe the darkness residing in her couldn’t take it and had to lash out.

  17. @Robert, Stacyann became defensive right away. The homosexual community always tries to preach tolerance but when confronted with truth they become some of the most intolerant people you will ever meet (not all of them). She really got crazy when you put homosexuality in the same category as rape, prostitution and murder like homosexuality is in a class all by itself. Once again Pastor great work in defending the truth of the Word and exposing the lies of the devil.

  18. Pastor Foster, this exchange was laughable. I appreciate and applaud your solid stance on the subject. The other two panelists just went south. Giving respect to the good Dr.’s profession, but his initial response was offsetting as he knew the subject of the discussion. Passe, really? Ms. Chin (Bless her heart) and her “why does it have to be ‘former'”, your explanation was very clear, if I ain’t doing it no more – then it is former, ex, past, previously…duh! In I Cor. 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed.” II Cor 5:7 “old things are PAST away..” That tells me former. I bet they would not argue “former” if she stopped being an activist, and he a stopped practicing medicine. Thank you, Sir. You are a true contender of the faith. Blessings.

  19. I once was blind, but now I see.
Isnt that the most powerful yet simple testimony of God’s work in our life? Who cant understand that?

Sometimes when the eyes of the world are upon you, use your blind man testimony.

Dont know what thats about? Here’s the story from John 9.

1As he [Jesus] went along, he saw a man blind from birth. 2His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
3″Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life. 4As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. 5While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
6Having said this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes. 7″Go,” he told him, “wash in the Pool of Siloam” (this word means Sent). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.
8His neighbors and those who had formerly seen him begging asked, “Isn’t this the same man who used to sit and beg?” 9Some claimed that he was. Others said, “No, he only looks like him.” But he himself insisted, “I am the man.”
10″How then were your eyes opened?” they demanded.
11He replied, “The man they call Jesus made some mud and put it on my eyes. He told me to go to Siloam and wash. So I went and washed, and then I could see.”
12″Where is this man?” they asked him. “I don’t know,” he said.
13They brought to the Pharisees the man who had been blind. 14Now the day on which Jesus had made the mud and opened the man’s eyes was a Sabbath.
15Therefore the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. “He put mud on my eyes,” the man replied, “and I washed, and now I see.”
16Some of the Pharisees said, “This man is not from God, for he does not keep the Sabbath.” But others asked, “How can a sinner do such miraculous signs?” So they were divided.
17Finally they turned again to the blind man, “What have you to say about him? It was your eyes he opened.” The man replied, “He is a prophet.”
18The Jews still did not believe that he had been blind and had received his sight until they sent for the man’s parents. 19″Is this your son?” they asked. “Is this the one you say was born blind? How is it that now he can see?”
20″We know he is our son,” the parents answered, “and we know he was born blind. 21But how he can see now, or who opened his eyes, we don’t know. Ask him. He is of age; he will speak for himself.” 22His parents said this because they were afraid of the Jews, for already the Jews had decided that anyone who acknowledged that Jesus was the Christ[a] would be put out of the synagogue. 23That was why his parents said, “He is of age; ask him.”
24A second time they summoned the man who had been blind. “Give glory to God,[b]” they said. “We know this man is a sinner.”
25He replied, “Whether he is a sinner or not, I don’t know. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!”
26Then they asked him, “What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?”
27He answered, “I have told you already and you did not listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you want to become his disciples, too?”

And there is some DEEP REVELATION in there that I wont go into right now!

  20. I thought Pastor DL Foster done a fine job of representing our church and Biblical point of view, and a couple of comments was amusing. Stacyann, too bad she wasn’t a christian, she appears to be passionate for her sinful lifestyle, out of her mouth she said that homosexuality was sinful, so this must bother her, that other dude seem stuffed with himself and his education. I hope Pastor Foster get invited for more of these public discussions. Often gay activists do not want people to reveal the truth of choice and change so they try to silence people who have changed. Good job Pastor Foster.

  21. I’d like to see God open the door for Pastor Foster on CNN to SOUNDLY REFUTE Carleton Pearson and other’s that are behind this demonic agenda! 😉

  22. That’s a good idea, Godlysoldier.
It might be tough to get CNN to do it, but I can easily see a TBN, CBN, or Word Network doing it. I wish someone somewhere would sponsor such a debate, have it videotaped, and make it available on the internet for all the world to see. That would indeed provide a great service to the body of Christ.

  23. “Shout with the voice of a trumpet blast. Shout aloud! Don’t be timid. Tell my people Israel of their sins…Son of man, will you judge Oholah and Oholibah? Then confront them with their detestable practices…Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before me…Son of man, confront Jerusalem with her detestable practices…Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me…For our offenses are many in your sight, and our sins testify against us. Our offenses are ever with us, and we acknowledge our iniquities…But as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the LORD, and with justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression, to Israel his sin.”
    (Isaiah 58:1; Ezekiel 23:36; Jonah 1:2; Ezekiel 16:2; Ezekiel 3:17; Isaiah 59:12; Micah 3:8)

Though these words were specifically for Israel and not the world in general, the purpose of these warnings was to turn a rebellious people from their wicked ways. The LORD exhorted His prophets to go in boldness and preach a message of repentance, so that in His mercy, Israel would be spared His indefinite judgment. This matter of sin and its due penalty has not changed, because God does not change, regardless of what partial, New Testament-only adherents ignorantly proclaim. If the LORD judged His Own people, how much more those who reject Him? He will still judge a rebellious people, and He still instructs His creation to heed His voice. God didn’t change with the times. Where there’s no repentance, there’s judgment; that’s the way it’s always been and that’s the way it will always be. Social progression, scientific advances, political correctness – none of it has any bearing on God’s dealings with His creation. What He was He is, and what He is He will always be, which is a righteous God with a standard Who’s nucleus is His holiness.. And we have His Word to confirm it.

Pastor Foster, continue to speak in boldness, in season and out of season.

    John 15:18

GCMW: Thank you Angela. The word of the Lord is such a comfort and confidence builder. His will, will be done. And as he gives me strength, I will be faithful to cry aloud and spare not until repentance comes or judgment falls.

  24. My boss recently told me that he got in “trouble” because he used the term “sexual preference” and he was told that that term is outdated because it suggests that homosexuality is a choice.

Nothing urks me more than when people say that homosexuality is “unchangable”. If it’s truly a matter of fact and science, then why wouldn’t they study the thousands or maybe millions of people who have professed to change their sexual preference. They won’t even consider it. They get mad when you even suggest it. This just shows that they know there behavior is wrong. They have to hang on to their “were born with it” argument because without it, they would have to own up to it. But that begs the question if there is nothing wrong with it in the first place, then why not just say: “no I’m not born like this but I choose to do this” Heterosexual people would have no problem saying that they choose to be straight because they know that there is nothing wrong or sinful about it.

  25. pastor foster is truely delivered because his presence in that room with those unclean spirits testafies that he is a true man of god

  26. This IDIOT Dr. says, “the constitution is not real life.” What an IDIOT! Then on what do we base american freedoms you DUMMY???

The gay advocates were the only one’s upset and out of control…Stacy your lifestyle IS a SIN and all SIN is UNGODLY. The right to live that life has NOTHING to do with the acceptance of that life.

Yes, you are UNCLEAN and no matter what you “love”, the life is damaging both morally, socially, physically, and mentally. Yes the use of Abilify is speared by lesbian women such as yourself as a further proof of the mental difficulty of being a lesbian.

Good Dr., I can’t figure out for the life of me who he had to bribe to get a degree, but all you have to do is look up CDC studies on the harmful physical effects of homosexuality on the body and psychological conditions of those who practice it and IF you ever took the hippocratic oath you would have to recant IF you were to be true to it, unfortunately the good dr. seems to be every bit of “irrelevant” as he claims the argument of choice is…

Elder Foster, Excellent job of standing for the truth and just watching how devils squirm when truth is introduced into any conversation.

  27. I NEEDED to see this particular interview,
    because I EXPECTED Staceyann Chin
(a.k.a. the Valerie Solanas of Jamaica)
to be just as belligerent and hateful of men as she has ALWAYS been.
I KNEW this would be just too good.

For the record, Staceyann Chin is a JAMAICAN — NOT a Lesbian.
Lesbians are native people of the Greek island of Lesbos,
who are BOTH male and female. It is a geographical term, which belongs to no one else BUT actual Lesbians.
Chin is a homo-fem (homosexual female). And more to the point, she is a vitriolic man-hater as can be demonstrated from all of her poems, her activism, AND what she said on this show.
Notice how D.L. had to point out the fact that the Eddie Long controversy involved boys AFTER Chin marginalized it to hint that the abuse of girls is more important than the abuse of children, PERIOD.

And have you noticed also how David (obviously a hardcore homosexual) ALSO attacked D.L., jumping to the chance of trying to swaying the subject away from the first question, ultimately revealing his violent aura?

Homosexualists know no bounds, and if men and women don’t band
together once and for all to combat this gender war — this war that is almost literally KILLING and DIVIDING the African community in America, then you only have yourselves to blame.

Homosexualism is MORE than just an abomination.
It is the FINAL CALL of the male/female dynamic!
RESIST and REBEL against the homosexualist lobby AT ALL COSTS!

    Yours In Truth,
    –The Final Justice

  28. Okay that was very interesting TFJ. You do know that her calling herself a “lesbian” is her own self identification. Technically youre right she is a female who practices homosexuality thus a female homosexual.

Also some people have thought that David Malebranche is not homosexual. For the record, he is.

  29. Thank you very much, D.L., for your reply.
And I want to explain what I’m saying here.

Yes, homo-fems use the term “Lesbian” to describe
their homosexuality, but the term does not belong to them.
Not only that — it’s SEXIST of them to do so, and here’s why.

If you consider the fact that the term “gay” is term to describe a homosexual, and if a homo-fem is just as “gay” as their male counterpart, then WHY should she have a special name?
Homosexualists speak of “equality”, but yet it it the antithesis of equality, especially since using the term “Lesbian” (a geographical term) puts women even MORE on a pedestal of superiority.
They’re basically saying that female homosexuals are superior to their male counterparts. So, any time they speak of equality, it’s nothing more than a bold-faced lie. It’s a misnomer.

Keep in mind that the vast majority of ALL homosexualist (or “gay rights”) organizations are women. The term “LGBT” is used MOST often, more so by ALL people than “GLBT”, so you know what that means. Homosexuals can’t even ACT equal amongst THEMSELVES, so how can they be equal amongst heterosexuals with such a mentality and expect to be accepted for their divisive behavior?

You, D.L., are a testament to the reality that people can change,
and the next time you have another Staceyann Nazi type in your face (she truly is THAT BAD — trust me), don’t be afraid to speak your mind further. Keep the same composure and class you’ve always had, but don’t hold back.

    Speak the truth!

    Thanks again.

    Yours In Truth,
    –The Final Justice

  30. WOW!

Amazing how agendas show up at the whiff of resistance. You say two words, “Formerly” and “Gay” and those dimwits go left. 1. Brother man is arguably on the down low with his “passe” self and 2. Sister goes left with “I don’t want you around my kids.”

All the while, there’s my brother, calm, cool and collective. And oh yeah, redeemed. And the Constitution is not real life? Are folk really that brainwashed these days just to be on the side of status quo.

Pastor, you keep doing what you do and do it strong. Peace and blessings, my brother from another mother.

  31. Man, dont you know? The things that get people upset you know? 🙂

The doctor is not on the downlow. He’s openly gay.
Thanks for the encouragement, HS glad to know we’re cut out of the same cloth.

  32. Wow! She boasted of how she “loves” her sin. As I posted elsewhere on the Web, I know you really “prayed your spiritual armor on” that day! She almost seemed out of her (own) mind, and was not listening to reason. The doctor was more subdued, but nonetheless in disagreement with the truth. I pray the protection provided through blood of Jesus Christ to cover and protect you (and yours) as you go in and out of various “lion’s dens” facing all the “roaring lions” in the culture.
