The California Diocese of the Episcopal church has decided to “bless” homosexual relationships that are “monogamous”. Don’t laugh, they are serious. Perhaps the church will assign monogamy monitors to each couple to ensure they do what they claim they are doing.
Bishop Chester Talton of the Episcopal Diocese of San Joaquin in California has authorized clergy to bless the relationships of same-sex couples in church as “sacred unions.”
According to London’s Guardian, the move from Bishop Talton breaks a ban on blessing same-sex unions, an issue that has divided the Anglican Communion, which includes the U.S. Episcopal Church. Rowan Williams, the archbishop of Canterbury and head of the Anglican Communion, has declared his opposition to blessing same-sex unions.
The directive from Bishop Talton says that clergy may bless “same-gender civil marriages, domestic partnerships and relationships which are lifelong committed relationships characterised by fidelity, monogamy, mutual affection and respect [and] careful, honest communication,” reports the Guardian.
Like the Methodists who are simply aping the lost culture, the Episcopal bishop’s rationalization for blessing what God has cursed is typical of the apostate church of today. When challenged about sanctioning homosexual marriage, most progay clergy will invariably point to the opposition to mixed raced marriages. Why should we tell people who they can love?, they protest.
But if we fast forward a decade, will we see these same clergy justifying “intergenerational” sexual relationships by pointing to opposition of homosexual marriages? If we can’t tell a person who they can “love” (read:have sex with), then the door is already open for pedophiles to benefit from the “blessing” of homosexual marriage.

I was raised by a single mom. I didn’t have a real relationship with my father. Some years back, 2001 maybe, I wished I had been given the opportunity to had been born into a family with both a mother and father. Mother was busy with trying to be both that she was more father than mother. I would have wanted a father even if he rejected my being homosexual.
Now that I’ve been delievered from that lifestyle, I knew, just like the prodigal son’s father of the Bible, he would have
been proud of my turning from that lifestyle. God put it into children to have both a mother and a father. One to nuture and the other as disciplenarian. Two men or two women can’t teach a male child to be a man or a female to be a woman.
The homosexual agenda is to adopt children in order to prove that their perverted lifestyle is no different from a
hetersexual home life. A counterfeit will never and can never take the place of the geniune. God doesn’t create
counterfeits, satan does.

Episcopalians should know (and many do) that the Church of England from which it descends was formed, in spite of political and personal, in protest of false doctrine of the Church of Rome. If there need be a split or mass exodus again, so be it.
Amen. The #1 problem in America is fatherlessness. Sin is always going to be part of a fallen world but if the fathers where in the home in America raising their kids, we wouldnt have all these problems. The level they have reached (worse than Sodom and Gamorrah) with sexual immortality, gender bending, gangs, rapes, drugs, abortion and false god worship is just unreal. I am very confident gay marriage will not lead to accepting pedophilia. It saddens me to see individuals frightened of gay marriage because of unsupported claims such as it will lead to accepting pedophilia! Gay marriage involves two consenting adults and pedophilia includes one adult and a child below the age of consent or state legalization. It’s clearly that simple, regardless of your religious or spiritual beliefs. Its unfortunate individuals find it so easy to label welcoming the Gay Society as the precursor to welcoming the Pedophilia Society. I weep inside!
Why can’t we just invite everyone to the Love of God just as Jesus did? I believe and know that is the primary objective in the Episcopal Church’s decisions. Jesus invited everyone robbers, prostitutes, beggars and accepted them into the kingdom. Who gave us authority to condemn someone based on their “sin”, Jesus didn’t and HE is the inspiration for our church no one else! Jarvis, you have a very short memory. Just nine years ago, homosexuality was illegal, just like pedophilia. The only reason its not illegal now is because laws against it were struck down. What makes you think that laws against pedophilia will not be struck down just like the ones prohibiting homosexual conduct? What if the law says that as long as the child is consenting, then there’s no wrong? The age of consent is already under attack in many countries. You shouldnt be sad, you should be glad that someone is asking the critical questions about this issue. The apostate Episcopal church isnt. And before you begin with all the redefined love stuff, please know that love is not a liscense for anyone to throw away the law of God. His law still says that homosexual activity is wrong.

There is clear reason why homosexuality is no longer illegal in our country. To justify your argument in saying “Just nine years ago, homosexuality was illegal, just like pedophilia. The only reason its not illegal now is because laws against it were struck down.” is invalid.

Just a few years ago whites and blacks weren’t able to marry. Laws are revised when they come in direct conflict with civil rights and our Constitution. Do you know why laws against homosexuality were struck down? I think if you read why that would justify their removal.

I personally feel that it is unfair to attack the Episcopal Church for challenging religious norms. They challenge religious norms to create a true kingdom of God. Religious norms must be challenge when they hurt more than love, when they condemn more than accept, and when they psychologically scar more than heal. That “law” was given by man, the former Rabbis and elders of Judaism. No one is throwing away Gods law just implementing it in the Christ like way.
GCMW: Jesus Christ affirmed that all sexual activity outside the male-female creation model is SIN. All means all. By excluding everything except that model, he gave everything else the same degenerate status. So you are not doing it Christ-like. No church denomination is perfect in interpretation by no means but the Episcopal Church does have leading scholars and theologians leading them into making thoughtful decisions.

I worry less about the their decisions in following the holy spirit to accept and love all and more about those denominations who condemn and judge. You should stop in you local Episcopal Church and experience there governing process before making assumptions of how they follow the holy spirit!

-What? You and your denomination has the same amount of authority. You continuously speak of this law of God, which law do you refer to that speaks of homosexuality. Moses didn’t give it, nor did Jesus. Neither spake of it. Followers and disciples of both just like you and me spoke of it. We have the same authority as those past disciples. Gay people are not the enemies of God. They do not hate God. If anything, it’s the so called “Godly” people that hate the Gays. Isn’t that ironic. Lastly with God’s help I do follow Jesus’ example, with inviting everyone to the table of God….. the prostitute, the drugatic, the gay person, the divorcee, the gambler, the alcoholic, the thief.
