The world of politics, religion and media has converged in a stranger than fiction drama. Feeding off the illogical hate of homosexual activists, the liberal news media seems to be fascinated with former homosexuals. First there was Lisa Ling’s “pray away the gay” slur-o-rama where she mocked God’s power to transform sexually broken people. That show included a long time friend Janet Boynes. Then, Dr. Drew, using the same flawed and biased premise, aired a show called ” Can you pray away the gay? also featuring Janet Boynes. As we noted before, such a phrase is the social equivalent of calling a black person a nigger.
The problem, you see, is that homosexual activists (aided by “professionals” at the nation’s mental health organizations) believe that a person can change their [homosexual] behavior, but their “sexual orientation”? Absolutely, 100% impossible.
But how does the opinion of educated people fare against the wisdom of God?
“I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me? Jeremiah 32:27
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. Matthew 19:26
To rephrase:
1. Is changing a man or woman’s sexual orientation too hard for God?
2. Jesus says that men dont have the ability to change certain things, but when GOD is in the equation, what men say is impossible (like changing sexual orientation) becomes possible.
So, this latest mock-up comes via ABC News.
In continued efforts to prove former homosexuals, exlesbians and yes even their favorite mock term exgays don’t exist they enlisted the investigative expertise of ABC News CHIEF investigative journalist Brian Ross. To ABC, this apparently was on the scope of the Watergate scandal. But Ross has a reputation. Gawker said Ross “has a breathtaking record of recklessly inaccurate, overhyped stories that don’t live up to the headline.” Ross held true to form with this “investigative story”.
Ross used recycled video from an internet based homosexual organization ironically called Truth Wins Out (TWO). TWO has doggedly sought legitimacy by claiming that former homosexuals are not actually former homosexuals. Thus, the video was taken by an “undercover” homosexual activist who wanted to tell the world some shocking news. Presidential candidate Michelle Bachmann’s husband has a Christian counseling practice that tells people sexual orientation isn’t set in stone. A Christian counseling practice that tells men and women they can change from homosexuality. Shocking news indeed.
Americans for Truth about homosexuality provides more detail about the faux sting.
Once a greatly feared investigative reporter, Brian Ross has been reduced to recycling left-wing material from the homosexual lobby. But the pathetic hit job he narrated on Monday’s ABC Nightline show on GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann has backfired in a big way. The charge was that the Bachmann family counseling service engages in terrible things by teaching homosexuals how to leave their disease-ridden lifestyle.
Ross called this method of counseling, which emphasizes religious conversion, “highly controversial” and said it “could become a campaign issue.” Ironically, however, he presented evidence that ex-homosexuals do in fact exist
It is a sign of the dominance of the homosexual lobby in the media business that such a program would even be aired. The upcoming National Lesbian & Gay Journalists Association convention features “Today” show co-anchor Ann Curry and CNN’s Don Lemon as keynote speakers.
The ABC piece, “Michele Bachmann Clinic: Where You Can Pray Away the Gay?,” was constructed in such a way as to suggest that ex-homosexuals are non-existent, even though the Brian Ross report itself noted the presence of books by a “self-proclaimed ex-lesbian” in the counseling center. A video from the ex-lesbian, Janet Boynes, was even shown briefly on the air. This was supposed to be shocking.
Of course, the notion of the Bible condemning homosexual behavior, reflected in several passages, was viewed as bizarre and intolerant.
Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth says the phrase, “pray away the gay,” is intended to ridicule Christians and comes directly from homosexual activist Wayne Besen’s group, Truth Wins Out. LaBarbera asks, “Why are the major media repeating these hateful attack slogans by radical gay activists?”
He explains, “We don’t mock the idea of leaving drug addiction or alcoholism with God’s help. Why is it acceptable to mock faith in God to overcome unwanted behaviors like homosexuality in their lives?”
“Wayne Besen’s thesis is that ex-gays don’t exist,” noted LaBarbera. But Janet Boynes is a real person and absolute proof that one can leave the homosexual lifestyle.
Perhaps without realizing it, Ross has presented evidence of the homosexual “change” that he was trying to discredit.
“The homosexual lobby simply can’t deal with the reality that ‘gays’ can change (usually with God’s help),” LaBarbera adds. His group recently hosted an event with another ex-lesbian, Linda Jernigan.
Its amazing that in 2011 with all the talk of “being yourself”, being “open and honest”, tolerance, acceptance and equality, homosexual activists want to tell us we have to remain enslaved to something God didn’t create us to be.
Homosexuals going “undercover” to prove us former homosexuals don’t exist is nothing new, but its the activist’s #1 tactic to stir up public hatred and disbelief against people who were formerly like them. Several years ago, an “undercover” gay activist showed up at one of our meetings in Atlanta. After I rebuke her juvenile antics (and story), she claimed she was set up by the gay newspaper editor and they changed her words after she wrote the story.
If homosexuals don’t want to change, then the solution is simple: don’t go to a Christian counselor who will tell you that you can.
Update: CBN interviews Mark Yarhouse about the possibility of change from homosexuality which is referred to as “orientation”. When the context of the argument is about “orientation”, a scientific/pyschological construct, the ability to leverage a biblical perspective is greatly diminished. The bible doesnt address orientation per se, but it does address the soul and spirit and intangible nature of mankind both in terms of sin and holiness. See our story Does the Bible address sexual orientation. CBN Video of the interview below.

You missed the whole point. The point is that candidate Bachmann has repeatedly claimed that her husband does NOT have a business that includes the pursuit of using psychological therapy to try to change people’s orientation from gay to straight. This recent video shows she has not been telling the truth.
I didnt miss anything. The point is that Brian Ross did a hit piece which attempts to paint me as persona non grata and the work I do as “dangerous” and “misguided”.
This story about Michelle Bachmann is part of the gay activists’ strategy to change the subject, as shown in the above comment. The real subject is whether or not homosexuals who desire to can change, and there is proof and real people that demonstrate they can. Instead, the gay activists and their allies (sometimes the allies are the worst ones) focus on whether or not Michelle Bachmann is being truthful, when their objective all along is to discredit the programs that rehabilitate homosexuals who want to change.
Ironically, these rehabilitation programs are not going out and grabbing gays off the streets and dragging them in against their will. If practicing homosexuals who want to change desire to go through the program, why are gay activists against it? Are they afraid of losing numbers (the numbers are already grossly inflated and nowhere near the percentages they claim)? Are they afraid that, if some people demonstrate that deliverance is possible through spiritual teaching, that the whole idea of being “born that way” will be discredited?
If they are really about the freedom to “be who you really are,” why are they so against homosexuals who want to change to be who THEY really are? A person who became involved in homosexuality due to adolescent molestation, watching pornography or experimentation was obviously not born a homosexual. This is so hypocritical. Thank God for people like Minister Foster who can see through their tactics.
This was worth the read, while knowing that they were trying to debunk the idea of lifestyle change with the help of The Lord, this last line did it for me;
“If homosexuals don’t want to change, then the solution is simple: don’t go to a Christian counselor who will tell you that you can.”
April, gcmwatch exposed the real ‘message’ here. The real message is that this Gospel we all preach which directs people to Jesus Christ for deliverance from homosexuality is dangerous, bizarre, intolerant, and unethical. That is the lie that is being chanted from every pole and pillar in our media today. Yes Brian Ross has tried to paint Dr. Foster and anyone else like him as a “poor misguided soul”. When the truth is they are holding out a light to those in darkness.
The lie that one can not change their sexual orientation has been chanted over and over so much so that many really believe that garbage. Brian Ross attempts to continue this lie by doing this “hit Job” piece that is supposed to expose a lie about the nature of the counseling being done, but really this is a piece about the so-called “absurdity” of even trying to be delivered from homosexuality.
@gcmwatch: no you didn’t miss anything!
He explains, “We don’t mock the idea of leaving drug addiction or alcoholism with God’s help. Why is it acceptable to mock faith in God to overcome unwanted behaviors like homosexuality in their lives?”
AMEN!
Michelle Bachman’s run for the presidency is done as a result of this story–the media will distort and exploit this for the next several days. She and her husband will be mocked and ridiculed then forced to grovel and beg for forgiveness. Now we will see if Michelle has the character that very few politicians have these days, will she have the courage to stand up for what we all know and understand, that homosexuality is a decadent and utterly depraved lifestyle? She’ll have to put her beliefs before her aspirations. Why do I feel she is going to try and back track on this issue? There are three “sacred cows” that you don’t dare criticize in public these days, even if the criticism is justified. Homosexuality is one of them. Like the Roman Empire did, this nation is well into the process of self-destructing.It’s all over folks,it’s only going to get much worse.
David it certainly will. We have not had a politician with as strong a tie to this belief and a long standing personal friendship with someone who has actually come out of homosexuality. Im fairly sure it will come down to whether she will step back from her beliefs or be steadfast even if it costs her the presidency. Of course I pray that she do the will of God.
Rarely watch The Jay Leno Show, but it on came on after 11pm local NBC, during his monologue he was mocking Bachmann and her husband about praying gay away. Jay Leno won’t be laughing if he doesn’t repent, he will have eternity in the Lake of Fire to reflect on his foolish statements.
As for Dr. Drew he has done ad for campaign NoH8, to overturn Prop. 8, he is very much pro-homosexual.
SS, yeah the world is a mocking one, just like they did Noah and Christ. They scoff at the power of God. Its to be expected when you are lost and blind.
But more than supporting “Michelle Bachmann” we have to see this is the context God has provided. Here again, God has used someone to put the issue of delivarance from homosexuality in the spotlight for us who know the truth to rally and affirm it. Instead the “church” keeps missing the opportunity to glorify God whose power is undeniable.
In such cases, our “blindness” not to see the hand of God at work is just a deadly as the world’s.
They will do anything to keep their sin according to John 3:15-21. When you love sin, any sin, it is clear that they will fight the power of God to change a person from the vilest sin on the planet among men and women. Pederasty (from Dr. Michael Brown’s Book “A Queer Thing Happened To America”), catamites according to 1 Corinthians 6:9, and lesbianism according to Romans 1:26.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.
The MSM has been in the pocket of homosexuals activists for a long time. You will never see the liberal media place homosexuals in a position where they don’t look powerful.
Remember that show Pastor Foster went on and that lesbian made a fool of herself and she said ” I looooooooooove being a lesbian”…..lol You can’t find it anymore because the gays whined and complained about it so the network pulled the plug.
They mock God because they want to feel less guilty about their sin. They know they are wrong, (they really do) but, they love their sin so much and they don’t want to let it go, so they feel that by mocking God it will make them feel better. Inside they are afraid and when they are alone with their own thoughts they are tormented and miserable. When we see them they put on their happy face…They need our prayers because they haven’t realized that they have been deceived into believing a lie. And the reporter, just a puppet paid by the highest bidder…
I wonder why they wouldn’t want that show to be available – she said she “loved being a lesbian” which would seem to me to prove their point..lol.
cici, what show…and who is “she”?
GCM….
I was referring to Robert’s comment above about your appearance on a recent TV show.
oh okay thanks. I get your comment now. That vid was surgically removed. They left up other segments filmed the same day.
Frankly, the world is so caught up inthe ‘lady gaga fantasy’ of homosexuals being born this way. Th truth of the matter is that this perverse lifestyle is a demon that we call homosexuality. I understand counseling, especially since I am studying to be a counselor myself, but it will never completely DELIVER these bound souls.
This is where the saints of the living God must act. Where is the anointing that destroys yokes? Where is the power of the Holy

This is where the saints of the living God must act. Where is the anointing that destroys yokes? Where is the power of the Holy Ghost that Jesus said we were to use to cast out devils? In addition, the Word tells us that some come out only by fasting and prayer. I firmly believe that these are the keys to deliverance for those bound by the stronghold of Satan.
In Christ
Sis. Shantay
I think that we need to be careful here – to state that a perverse lifestyle is in fact a demon minimizes the role that human beings play in both making moral decisions and participating in moral acts. It also suggests that human beings are not responsible for their own actions.
Cogic Bro youre right. We should not be so quick to assign homosexuality to demon status. Homosexuality is a product of lust and is also complicated by a plethora of emotional, relational, spiritual and sexual dysfunctions. Of course it is an intrinsically unnatural lust but that doesnt mean every person who struggles with homosexuality is demon possessed no more than every person who is engaging in heterosexual sexual immorality is demon possessed. Demons are real and do need to be cast out in the authority of Christ, but even if that is the case, the person needs to learn how to build healthy same sex relationships and deal with emotional, relational and sexual wholeness. Deliverance is the door to that, not the answer itself.
When we can conveniently place the blame on demons it excuses our own personal responsibility for our sins.
While deliverance is needed to break the bondage of sin. After deliverance, a person does need counseling (a component of discipleship) to help them grow strong in understanding holiness and how to live out their freedom in Christ in both practical and spiritual ways.
COGIC Brother & Gmwatch, I do agree with you in part. Even with demonic influence, there must be a willingness to forsake the evil and turn to Christ. I apologize for the way in which I wrote my previous post. I was thinking more from the angle of those who are currently in counseling for homosexual and other sexual immoral behaviors.
These people have made a conscious choice to forsake the act of the sin and draw nigh to Crist. However, in my humble opinion, deliverance is not true deliverance when the problem still exists. With counseling, the sin is simply subdued, but when true deliverance through Christ Jesus comes, the problem is completely removed.
In this sense, I say that demons must be cast out and/or rebuked from the life of the person so that their soul can truly be free. Then the Holy Ghost (along with Godly counsel) will seal that soul to salvation. The bottom line here is that the Devil has no power over that which is completely hid in Christ Jesus.
In Christ,
Sis. Shantay
“However, in my humble opinion, deliverance is not true deliverance when the problem still exists. With counseling, the sin is simply subdued, but when true deliverance through Christ Jesus comes, the problem is completely removed.”
Shantay, while its good in some cases to have a “humble opinion”, such should not be employed when discussing issues of salvation and deliverance. You say that deliverance “is not true deliverance when the problem still exists.” Are you applying that only to homosexuality/same sex attractions or are you applying that to sin?
And is “true deliverance” the complete eradication of sin or sinful inclinations in the believer’s life? Is that how the bible defines deliverance?
I am applying this to a number of things. Jesus taught the disciples to pray: “… and lead us not into temptaion, but deliver us from evil…”. When you look through the whole of scripture, when the Lord delivered (rescued, remitted, set free) anyone, the thing that He delivered them from was no longer there. For instance, the Lord delivered the 3 Hebrew boys so completely that not even a hair on their head was singed.
Perhaps the basis of my argument here is that I am personally not satisfied with those who are satisfied by simply not acting on the sin or temptation. I believe Christ is more powerful and awesome than that. I have personally witnessed people be instantly set free from addictions (smoking, alcoholism, drugs, etc.) never to return to those things or have any desire (temptation) for those things again.
Christ has given a more excellent way through his Spirit.
“Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.” Zechariah 4:6
In watching more news coverage about Michelle Bachmann and her husband’s reparative ministry for homosexuals, CNN and MSNBC continue to present a one-sided, pro-gay discussion. The words used most often, “orientation” and “science,” imply that homosexuality is an innate behavior that cannot be changed. No one with a viewpoint different from this is allowed to be interviewed on either of these networks UNLESS they are first pilloried, maligned, and discredited before they are put on the air.
My recent research has revealed some facts that the gay activists community does not want the public to know.
First, decades of study have shown that male homosexuality is most often linked to the male child’s defensive detachment against male rejection, primarily with the father. In these cases, the father is either cold, brutal and detached, or weak and distant. This severed relationship begins to manifest as early as 3 years old and this is the reason why many homosexuals say they have felt “different” as far back as they can remember.
In other cases, it results from molestation which occurs during the childhood or pubescent years. Some also engage in homosexual behavior in their teens as a result of rebellion, experimentation or exposure to gay pornography.
For females, childhood trauma, poor self-image, anger at men, poor relationships with either or both parents, and pro-homosexual media propaganda are several key elements in women developing an attraction to other women.
The “science” most often referred to by gay activists is the American Psychiatric Association which, in 1973, deleted homosexuality from its diagnostic manual. In fact, Dr. Robert Spitzer, the psychiatrist who led the team that changed the manual in the ’70s, interviewed 200 former homosexuals in 2001 and released the study results.
The study showed that some homosexuals COULD change their orientation if they were motivated and used a variety of change efforts. Sixty-six percent of the men and 44 percent of the women had arrived at what Spitzer called good heterosexual functioning. In addition, 89 percent of men and 95 percent of women said they were bothered only slightly, or not at all, by unwanted homosexual feelings. This supports the idea that people who have been involved with homosexual behavior for a number of years will not be able to change immediately, but that change has to occur over time. This is logical and just plain common sense.
Of course, Dr. Spitzer was only useful to the gay community when he agreed with them. Once he released the study in 2001, he was hounded by gay activists and has since retired.
I just wanted to share these facts with others because they were useful to me and I think others fighting this fight could be helped. Despite what gay activists continually promote, change is possible for many homosexuals who want to change. The desire for change has to be there first and one cannot wave a magic wand. But, as believers, we know that “With God, all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26)
