Alabama deliverance service for teens angers gays

HAMILTON, AL – Before its all over we may need a national “religious exemption” clause for churches to pray with, minister to and preach against homosexuality. With SOTUS’s ministry of “justice” demanding that the Defense of Marriage Act be struck down (so much for “states’ rights”), things are not going to get better.  As we see it, there is no way biblical truth about homosexuality and the  oppressive social inclusion ideology to peacefully coexist. The inevitable is happening before our eyes. One homosexual activist is accusing Alabama based pentecostal evangelist Damon Thompson of a litany of offenses after an impromptu deliverance service for young people struggling with homosexuality and lesbianism.

Ashton Pittman, a homosexual teen who said he was looking to get out of his boring religious life in a small town Alabama Baptist church, says he was attracted to Thompson’s ministry because the evangelist “wore jeans, had tattoos and preached against religion.” But in one service, he didn’t like it that Thompson called teens struggling with homosexuality to come forward and receive deliverance. So Pittman started a crusade and in the short run is getting the attention his small town Baptist church didn’t give him.

Pittman posted a video of the service and predictablity its raised the ire of gay rights activists.

The service took place at a church called “The Ramp”, founded by frequent TBN guest Karen Wheaton. Thompson has responded to the emerging controversy with a statement on his website.

I first and foremost preach with a strong sense of responsibility to present Biblical truth. As part of that Biblical responsibility, I can in no way condone homosexuality. I understand, along with every genuine preacher and teacher of the Bible, that it is my vocation to call sin sin and to compel men and women to the path of eternal life Jesus and the Apostles prescribed. That path is forsaking sin and placing faith in Jesus Christ.

The video clips most viewed are very short and depict strong statements about homosexuality. I wish to clarify my purpose behind making them. The brevity of the video clips do not allow a viewer the opportunity to hear the entirety of my message and heart.

Any statements I make concerning homosexuality are in the hopes of turning the homosexual to the path of eternal life. I talk about homosexuality as I would adultery, alcoholism, pornography, drug addiction, etc. As with all sin, I recognize its destructive nature and out of love call people away from it.

Was Thompson wrong? Should he apologize for “offending” gay sensibilities? Should he now only talk about homosexuality in secret and prohibit any filming? Should he just tell young people that there is no hope for change; that they are doomed to be something that God never created them to be?

We hope not. Its no secret that many young people in churches are struggling with homosexual bondage just like they are struggling with bondages of all type. Somebody must be bold enough, anointed enough, biblical enough to speak the truth in love.  We can’t separate the church from the Lord and the Lord from his message. The mission and message of the true church has always been the same mission and message as the One who established the church.

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor;

That’s what its about people of God. Everyone deserves to hear the message of freedom. The slaveowners of America’s past didnt want black people to hear the message of freedom either. Now, it seems like satan has just found another host to suppress the message of freedom. And if we allow a blind and lost world force us to stop preaching this message of freedom, we will have truly lost our identity and purpose.

Shofarsound: There’s hardly a TV show now that doesnt have a “well adjusted” homosexual character. Is this intentional?

Pastor Joe: That’s a great question. Tragically, almost anything that is treated favorably by Hollywood and mass media becomes infectious and catches on, even if it is deadly.  Humans are very impressionable and easily led by the liberal media. Television shows and movies have been a powerful weapon in Satan’s arsenal to erode godly morals among the American populace.

Oprah Winfrey, who influences millions, promoted homosexuality when she made a cameo appearance on Ellen DeGeneres’ “Coming Out” Episode.  Since Oprah claims to be a Christian when in fact she is a new ager, she has duped God only knows how many biblically uninformed Christians on the issue.

Television shows that promote homosexuality are too numerous to list, but in the last couple of years shows like “Degrassi,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Pretty Little Liars,” and “Glee” are at the top of the list, when it comes to glamorizing the sin of homosexuality. Many of these TV shows receive awards from the homosexual organization GLAAD for their promotion of homosexual lifestyles. Wise parents will protect their children from being enticed by programming that is intended to program their little ones with gay propaganda.

In “The Overhauling of Straight America,” authors Kirk and Erastes Pill, advocate this strategy to propagate the gay agenda:

“Where we talk is important. The visual media, film and television, are plainly the most powerful image-makers in Western civilization. The average American household watches over seven hours of TV daily. Those hours open up a gateway into the private world of straights, through which a Trojan horse might be passed … So far, gay Hollywood has provided our best covert weapon in the battle to desensitize the mainstream” (Marshall K. Kirk and Erastes Pill, “The Overhauling of Straight America.” Guide Magazine, October and November 1987 [emphasis added].

Consider the following revealing stratagem from a popular manual, advocating homosexual propaganda, by Harvard trained gay activists Marshall Kirk and Hunter Madsen:

“… Famous historical figures are especially useful to us for two reasons: first, they are invariably dead as a doornail, hence in no position to deny the truth and sue for libel. Second, and more serious, the virtues and accomplishments that make these historic gay figures admirable cannot be gainsaid or dismissed by the public, since high school history textbooks have already set them in incontrovertible cement. By casting its violet spotlight on such revered heroes, in no time a skillful media campaign could have the gay community looking like the veritable fairy godmother to Western civilization” (Marshall Kirk and Hunter Madsen, After the Ball).

We can look at just two of the top movies that came out in the month of June 2011 to see how this propaganda works. The latest X-Men movie (X-Men: First Class) was number one at the box office and very few of the millions who viewed it, knew that they were being indoctrinated by a subversive gay propaganda film.

X-men films develop the theme of various X-men discovering their superpowers, as they struggle with their various mutations and societies reluctance to accept their “coming out,” with their superpowers.  Unbelievably, some behind the X-Men movies want their audience to see X-Men as superheroes “coming out,” as analogous to gays coming out of the closet, and their superpowers, as analogous to homosexual lifestyles.

Gay X-Men screenwriter Dan Harris, who wrote the screenplay for X2 with gay screenwriter Michael Dougherty, admitted that he sees X-Men mutancy, and the X-Men’s struggle for acceptance in society, as corresponding to homosexuality:

“…. it’s become more a metaphor for sexual identity and orientation because it’s more appropriate to look at a person and have to say, ‘Are you a mutant?’…. you can’t always look at a person and know that they’re a mutant just like you can’t look at a person and know that they’re gay” ( critic Walter Chaw, X2).

Openly gay X-Men Director, Bryan Singer, has not only directed most of the X-Men movies but recruited openly gay activist actor Ian McKellen, to star as Magneto, by convincing him that mutants were comparable to struggling gays. McKellen stated “I think he expected that I was going to consider it a not posh-enough job,” but revealed that he was told that X-Men is really about Lesbain, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender people. “I thought he was right,” says McKellen. “It’s not just a fantasy story. It’s a parable.” McKellen is a co-founder of the LGBT gay activist group Stonewall.

McKellen further stated “[The producers] will tell you one of the demographics that X-Men appeals to is young gays…. There are enough people in this world who think that the answer to the ‘problem’ of being gay is to be ‘cured’ of your abnormality.” Thus in McKellen’s mind, rather than view sex between two men as immoral behavior, why not portray it as positive genetic mutation, on the level of the fantastic powers of a superhero?

Homosexual William Earnest in his article “Making Gay Sense of X-Men,” admitted “Singer and his screenwriters equipped X-Men and X2 with the rhetorical stealth needed to fly below the gaydar of many critics and audience members.” [source]

In the latest X-Men installment, when an X-Men who works for the US military is asked how he got away with being discovered through the years, he replies “Well, they didn’t ask, and I didn’t tell.” An obvious reference to the “don’t ask don’t tell” policy regarding homosexuality in the U.S. military.  Thus the line is drawn from this X-men’s superpower to homosexuality, and Hollywood has gone a step further than simply legitimizing what billions of people deem to be sinful and destructive behavior, to glorifying it as something to be coveted like a
cool superpower.

When we turn to Pirates of the Caribbean, which like X-Men, has been one of the most successful series of movies ever released, we see similar brainwashing. Johnny Depp admits that he read the book “Sodomy and the Pirate Tradition,” to prepare for his staring role as Captain Jack Sparrow.

Famous Film Reviewer, Robert Ebert wrote: “Depp seems to be channeling a drunken drag queen with his eyeliner and the way he minces ashore and slurs his dialogue ever so insouciantly.” When Rolling Stone asked Depp about the “certain gay undercurrent” so obvious in his Jack Sparrow’s character, Depp responded:

“Well, there was a great book I read…. ‘Sodomy and the Pirate Tradition.’ A very interesting book. I wasn’t exactly going for that with the character. And Keith [Richards] is not flamboyant in his actions. Keith is pretty stealth. But with Jack, it was more that I liked the idea of being ambiguous, of taking this character and making everything a little bit…. questionable. Because women were thought to be bad luck on ships. And these pirates would go out for years at a time. So, you know, there is the possibility that one thing might lead to another. You’re lonely. You have an extra ration of rum. ‘Cabin boy!’” (Rolling Stone, July 2006, p. 50).

Sadly, millions of parents had no idea that Depp had inculcated aspects of a homosexual pirate into his character. Children who are enticed by this character, are led to believe that since Captain Jack is portrayed as a hero, that wearing eye shadow and acting effeminate is the stuff heroes are made of today, unable to always discern the difference between fact and fiction. Gay activist Darrell Risk, in his article “Are Homosexual’s Born That Way?” acknowledges the infectious nature of homosexuality, when young people are exposed to it:

“I have found that even many of my most unbiased straight friends grow skittish with my homosexual candor—say, kissing my mate—when their children are around. Underneath it all, they too understand that sexually free ideas are infectious and that, once introduced to the suggestion of same sex love, their kids might just try it and like it” (Darrell Risk, ‘Born?’ p. 424).

In light of Darrell Risk’s admission that his own public sexual expression has the power to “infect” children who witness it, how much more are the purposely-seductive characters of Jack Sparrow, the X-Men and other Hollywood caricatures and story lines, enticing and infecting millions of our children?  Harry Hay, the founder of the gay liberation movement stated, Everyone, even heterosexual people, all have the potential to have that fairy spirit.”

Perhaps no movie has been quite as successful in propagating homosexuality as natural and normative as Brokeback Mountain. To get an understanding of how this movie manipulated the public we can look at a piece of propaganda created out of thin air by the father of the sexual revolution here in America, Alfred Kinsey. Kinsey was exposed for fabricating bogus numbers, when he claimed that 10 percent of Americans are homosexual.  Subsequent studies revealed that the truth ended up being between two and three percent. Kinsey was found to have inflated his statistics by interviewing large numbers of prison inmates and prostitutes.

Kinsey also made bogus claim that a disproportionate number of cowboys, who ride their horses in the open range, are in fact gay and hook up with each other to have homosexual encounters. Kinsey never showed any study that would suggest such was the case.  I mention this because Kinsey was trying to get America away from the effeminate stereotype of homosexuals that repulsed so many people.  Kinsey sought to cast homosexuals as real men.  What Kinsey may have done though, was take a page from a Marlboro cigarettes advertising campaign that popularized Marlboro among men just a few years earlier than Kinsey’s wild assertion.

Since 1924, Marlboro was marketed to women, as they were originally designed with a red band around the filter to hide lipstick and advertised as “Mild As May.” In the 1950’s, after cigarettes were proven to cause cancer, Phillip Morris wanted to attract men to his filtered cigarettes, men who would never use filters in the past.  How could he get men to smoke what was previously billed a women’s cigarette? Simple: reposition Marlboro as a man’s cigarette by placing it in the mouth of a rugged cowboy.  This cowboy, depicted on thousands of billboards nation wide, came to be known as the Marlboro Man. In a matter of months Marlboro went from a market share of less than less one percent to one of the best selling brands in the United States!

Ironically, even though homosexuality is often more deadly than smoking, Hollywood, like Kinsey, sought to make homosexuality acceptable by using a page out of Phillip Morris’ playbook.  The licentious movie Brokeback Mountain, recast homosexuality as a lifestyle akin to a healthy masculine cowboy. Kinsey would have been proud!

Shofarsound: Can you give a little more detail on Michael Swift’s comments in the Gay Community News that you mention in your CD expose’ Satanism and Homosexual Agenda?

Pastor Joe: Homosexual activist Michael Swift flaunted gay aspirations in the Gay Community News piece entitled “Gay Revolutionary” as he envisioned a gay utopia:

“We shall sodomize your sons, emblems of your feeble masculinity, of your shallow dreams and vulgar lies. We shall seduce them in your schools…. in your youth groups, in your movie theater bathrooms…wherever men are men together. Your sons will become our minions and do our bidding. They will be recast in our image. They will come to crave and adore us” [Michael Swift, Gay Community News, 15 February 1987].

What I find chilling, is that while some of Swift’s statements in the piece are somewhat satirical and inflammatory, is that many of the things he articulates as gay aspirations, with regard to our children, are already happening in our “youth groups…. movie theater’s [and] bathrooms” every day.

Shofarsound: So can we assume that Swift’s revisioning of America under a homosexual rule is coming true?

Pastor Joe: My comments on the question you asked earlier about the media and Hollywood, reveal that they are indeed seeking to “recast” our children in their “image,” as Swift states. Marshall Kirk and Hunter Madsen detail a three-stage plan to homosexualize America in their book, After the Ball.  They describe the plan to further the gay agenda and homosexualize America as a threefold plan, “desensitize, jam, and convert.”

The first stage is to desensitize by inundating the public with a “continuous flood of gay-related advertising, presented in the least offensive fashion possible.” They go on to say, “The main thing is to talk about gayness until the issue becomes thoroughly tiresome . . . If you can get [straights] to think [homosexuality] is just another thing—meriting no more than a shrug of the shoulders—then your battle for legal and societal rights is virtually won.” The second stage, “Jamming,” is described as “psychological terrorism meant to silence expression or even support for dissenting opinion.” The third stage is “Conversion” and they define it as the “conversion of the average American’s emotions, mind, and will, through a planned psychological attack, in the form of propaganda fed to the nation via the media” (Selling Homosexuality to America,” Regent Law Review, Volume 14, Number 2, Spring, 2002, available at

Attack of the 50 ft gay Christian college alumni

Wheaton College is now officially under siege. In the 1958 low budget film Attack of the 50 ft Woman, the main character  used  her alien induced size and power to seek revenge against her adulterous husband and his mistress. In the 2011 spiritual remake,  religious homosexuals induced with satanic power are seeking revenge against  Christian schools who won’t give in to their demands. Let the schools beware.

The Chicago Tribune reported yesterday that a homosexual group had formed to “provide support for the gay community on the conservative Christian campus.”

It always starts out with a benign “support” premise, but quickly grows into giant, 50 foot demands of acceptance, inclusion, power-sharing and celebration. Like false gay bishop Jim Swilley, one of the alumni evokes the teen suicide phenomena.

Thankfully,  the school’s president Philip Ryken immediately responded with the school’s position on homosexuality. One that reaffirmed its sinfulness.

OneWheaton seeks to offer “a safe space” for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning community, said group spokeswoman Kristin Winn. The LGBTQ community, according to Winn, is not widely accepted on campus because of the school’s official position against “homosexual behavior.”

Organizers began reaching out to students last week by passing out informational fliers outside a chapel service.

Soon after, Wheaton College President Philip Ryken sent an internal email to all students, faculty and staff that cited passages in the Bible that condemned homosexual behavior.

But Christian schools need more than a statement and internal emails. Students already know the bible is against homosexuality. Just knowing that is not enough when the opposition is offering cupcakes and sweet tea.  They need proactive measures to steal the thunder and diminish the wild claims of homosexuals whose only agenda is to legitimize their sexual acts.

We outlined several things Christian schools can do or build upon to halt the attacks. But unless they see what will become of them if they fail to contend for their heritage, it will be lost within the next ten years. Christian schools will cease to exist as a true reflection of  biblically influenced education thanks to homosexuals and vision-less school administrators.

Its no secret that scores of students are not only “struggling” with their sexuality, but others are being seduced into homosexuality because they have unresolved identity issues which makes them vulnerable.

Second notice to Christian schools: the ground is starting to quake from the giant’s approaching footsteps.


(1) This is connected to why Christian institutions of higher learning are allowing homosexual advocacy groups to gain a toe-hold inside their walls. Bad news all the way around.

(2) The OneWheaton group is shopping the idea of handing out tea and cupcakes. If they do, check for arsenic and razorblades first. Spiritually speaking, that is. Its just like the satan to fold his lies in sweet sounding tricks.

Christian schools in gay 'acceptance' battle zone with few solutions

There used to be a time when a Christian school was really a Christian school. Students attended because they wanted an education and they wanted that education in an environment where drugs, sex and the temptation to engage was minimized.

But not any more. Openly homosexual students are rapidly changing that. As a result, schools are in a battle zone with few —if any— solutions. And are in danger of falling into the hands of the god of cultural assimilation. More and more Christian colleges and universities are under seige by homosexual students who are demanding policy changes and official approval. Few are prepared to deal with the challenges posed by in  most case only a  handful of homosexual students. The elephant is running from the mouse.

According to the New York Times, the only real obstacle homosexual students are facing are “conservative” administrators.

Decades after the gay rights movement swept the country’s secular schools, more gays and lesbians at Christian colleges are starting to come out of the closet, demanding a right to proclaim their identities and form campus clubs, and rejecting suggestions to seek help in suppressing homosexual desires.

Many of the newly assertive students grew up as Christians and developed a sense of their sexual identities only after starting college, and after years of inner torment. They spring from a new generation of evangelical youths that, over all, holds far less harsh views of homosexuality than its elders.

But in their efforts to assert themselves, whether in campus clubs or more publicly on Facebook, gay students are running up against administrators who defend what they describe as God’s law on sexual morality, and who must also answer to conservative trustees and alumni.

Facing vague prohibitions against “homosexual behavior,” many students worry about what steps — holding hands with a partner, say, or posting a photograph on a gay Web site — could jeopardize scholarships or risk expulsion.

We have pushed for Christian schools to rise up and proactively meet this growing challenge. With the advent of the Soulforce terror tours, Christian schools became targets: either change or be branded as a hate school. The tactics are reaping a harvest as media (like the progay New York Times) pile on and paint a picture of gay student persecution.

At the same time, prominent Christian magazines (like Charisma, Gospel Today) and other outlets have ignored the struggle and provided zero coverage in support of schools who want to maintain a biblical environment for students who attend. Denying access and formation rights are only a small part of the solution schools need to put on an aggressive and proactive high priority list. But what else can they do?

To position themselves to maturely handle this threat,  schools should establish an office of sexual cultural affairs and regularly bring in speakers and hold assemblies which educate both biblically and scientifically on the spiritual and physical dangers posed by homosexual behavior.  They should offer scholarships to prospective students who want attain such degrees.

Schools should develop degree level programs on sexuality to prepare students to face what is now the greatest challenge to the integrity of the contemporary church.  The NYT article notes that secular schools have a decade of cultivating homosexual programs, but out of hundreds of Christian universities across the country, not a single one has even so much as raised the issue. This is an achilles heel that has been severely manipulated by homosexual rights groups.

Schools could easily compliment  current programs with focused of human sexuality infused with a healthy biblical overview for context. With biblical morality being erased and herded into antiquity’s closet, its vital that Christian schools uphold that knowledge through its academic programs.

Administrators should petition their respective denominational heads to partner with ministries that address homosexuality from a biblical perspective and give them a prominent place on campus. Visibility means everything. If there is no one to partner with, a ministry should be developed in congruence with denominational beliefs and given a prominent place on school campuses.

The language in existing policies should be reviewed and updated to withstand legal challenges and embarrassing media scrutiny (which is not far off) if this NYT article is any indication.

Its clear at least from the comments in the article that they primary goal is to change school policies, not get an education and move on like the average student.

COGIC assistant pastor led "double lifestyle"; arrested for rape of teen boy

News reports from Chattanooga, TN said that Ronnie Powe, Jr., the assistant pastor of United Tabernacle COGIC was leading a double lifestyle which ended in his arrest. On Sundays, Powe preached to the faithful at the church, but through the week be prowled homosexual sex hookup sites looking for sexual partners. “My son lived the life of a straight young man with the family and with the congregation, and with those he knew in the church community,” Pastor Powe says. “Outside, he lived as a gay young man.”
Tuesday night, Chattanooga Police caught Ronnie Powe, Jr., in a car with a 15-year-old boy, behind the old East Lake Elementary school.
“The suspect first said that he was just speaking to a member of his church about some problems,” CPD spokeswoman Rebecca Royval says. “The officer observed some unusual things and investigated a little further.”
Police reports don’t indicate, nor will Ronnie Powe, Jr., say whether he knew the boy was underage; only that they had met through a gay web site. Had the teenager been of age, the charges Powe faces would have been lewd acts or indecent exposure.
“More than a ten year age difference brings a more serious charge,” Royval says.
The charges ring hollow in his parents neighborhood of Indian Hills/Hillsborough Heights.
Their closest neighbors won’t go on camera. But they describe Pastor Powe Sr., as warm, gentle, and no nonsense; his son as unfailingly polite, never inappropriate. Pastor Powe, Sr. sees his son as conflicted between his own truth, and A Pentecostal faith that condemns homosexuality. A homosexual lifestyle is not what God ordained for us, and we’re not gonna back off of that,” he says.
“But we believe all this has happened to help him come to terms with who and what he is.”
Ronnie Powe, Jr. has resigned as United Tabernacle’s youth pastor. He admitted his homosexuality, and that he had been charged with statutory rape, to a church prayer meeting Wednesday night, his father says.
Powe, Sr. is adamant in stating that his congregation’s teenagers and children never could have been in any danger.
“Because of the way we do things, our structure,it would have been hard for him to do anything without being discovered,” he says.
Powe, Jr., has declined to go on camera. But he tells Eyewitness News he’ll ask forgiveness from the 15-year-old, the boy’s family, his own family, and his church. First he must face the state of Tennessee. A conviction for aggravated statutory rape could put him in prison for five years.
“I want my son to know that he’s supported, and that no matter what style of life he was involved in, we love him,” Powe Sr. says.
“With counseling, with time, I believe that he will be one of the greatest preachers that ever lived.”

The father is to be commended for his stance regarding his son’s sins. Hopefully, he is being honest when he says he did not know what his son was doing. But what does that say about church leadership these days? Is discernment dead? Is the Spirit of the Lord not revealing anything anymore?  United Tabernacle held a reputation of being a strict, traditional COGIC but we see that is ineffective if the leader is not paying attention to the people, let alone his own son.

This type of case highlights why the denomination should step up its effort to educate its men on these issues. How to discern them, how to prevent them and how to report them to church leadership. Sadly, Ronnie Powe is most likely representative of hundreds (if not thousands) of young men in the church matriculating towards leadership with unresolved sexual issues. And they are being ignored. What if Elder Ronnie Powe were Bishop Ronnie Powe? Think of the  widespread negative impact. The COGIC should invest in wholistic programs to help these young men before they self destruct while carrying big, church-sanctioned titles. Ignoring it will only result in more Ronnie Powes.

7 things this generation needs to know about homosexuality

Excerpt from a message I preached November 21, 2010 at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas. Rev. Dwight McKissic, pastor. Text from Judges 2:6-13

Marching through generations

Due to changing social conditions after World War II, homosexuals began to push for more visibility and as a consequence the government began to systematically fire and bar them from certain jobs. Homosexuals reacted by organizing themselves politically and socially to fight discrimination against them. For the next 20 odd years homosexuals made gains on several fronts and eventually began affecting sectors of American society which spurred even more clashes with those who believed it to be wrong. Language identifiers began to change also. Homosexuals began referring to themselves as “gay” and later changed from referring to their “sexual preference” as “sexual orientation”. The word “gay” was intended to deflect attention away from homosexual acts and instead reframe the national discussion around identity. The phrase sexual orientation was intended to lend credibility to the notion that homosexuals are born as such without a personal choice in the matter.

In the early 1950s, there was a near consensus in North America that gays, lesbians, and bisexuals  were mentally disordered individuals engaging in obscene, perverted sexual behavior. Same-gender sexual behavior was considered a criminal act in all jurisdictions.

Almost all homosexuals  existed only as a secret part of society and few heterosexuals were aware of having met one.

It took a full generation from the time that a woman named Dr. Evelyn Hooker’s first  study of homosexuality until the mental health professionals at the American Psychiatric Association were pressured into removing  homosexuality from its mental illness list. It took another generation before a significant percentage of adults, and a larger percentage of youth, started to accept homosexuality as a normal “minority sexual orientation”.

Anita Bryant
In 1970 The first Gay Liberation Day March was held in New York City. Seven years later a woman named Anita Bryant stood up against homosexuality in Miami (Dade  County) FL and as a consequence suffered the stunning loss of her very lucrative career and the break up of her family.

What happened to Anita Bryant in 1977 (when I was a freshman in high school) sent a chilling message to many Christian leaders. The message was this: homosexuals were powerful and ruthless. Opposing them could mean the loss of everything you had worked hard to build up. That initiated the silencing of the church and another significant change in our generation. No longer would homosexuals be a silent minority, they were moving into a sphere of influence unrivaled in our nation’s history.

One of the strongest revendications emerging out of the homosexual movement was the “right” to teach homosexuality in public schools. The goal was to be able to freely proselytize among children and teenagers; thus seeding into the minds of the coming generation that homosexuality was simply another benign expression of sexuality on par with heterosexuality.  High school students who thought they might be gay were encouraged to attend meetings and explore homosexuality, cross gender expression, bisexuality and more.

The rise of homosexual religion
In 1968 something else took root. The homosexual church movement, a religious entity which advocated for the redefinition of homosexuality as a sin, arose and began its trek into the heart of the Christian church. I must tell you that they have enacted a brilliant strategy and it is working.

The progression of the gay christian movement has been both stunning and devastating. In just a short generation, the Christian church has experienced a deep fundamental transformation, which in some instances it is hardly recognizable as a representative of Christ the Lord. Not all the changes are directly attributed to religious homosexual activism. But as Steve Gallagher, the founder of Pure Life Ministries said, its a fruit of the church’s methodical march away from God and his word.

“Another reason I believe we are quickly headed in the direction of seeing evangelical churches ordain homosexuals is because of our corporate loss of shame over sin in the Church. The number of ministers willing to assail sin in the pews and call their people to genuine repentance and holy living has greatly dwindled over the past 20 years. Even those in our congregations involved in the most abominable behavior are quickly assured that God’s grace covers all their sin. To a large extent the enemy has effectively silenced that crucial safeguard amongst God’s people.”

Every major Christian denomination has had serious internal battles over homosexuality and the authority of scripture. Once biblically stalwart groups like Baptists, Episcopalians, Lutherans, Presbyterians have fallen and begun ordaining homosexual clergy and consecrating homosexual bishops. The foundation of the African American church is being eaten alive by a religious “don’t ask don’t tell” policy which has severely weakened its ability to preach truth and integrity. Homosexuals influence much of the gospel music industry and false teachings such as the “gospel of inclusion” has wreaked havoc on the church and its mission to preach a pure Gospel of deliverance.

An ill fought war

Now,  people of God, this generation is buckling under the weight of just two generations of an ill fought war. Homosexuals in most instances have the upper hand in media, education, entertainment, government, social organizations and law. They are moving to overtake the military and the church is under assault from within and without.

Just like the generation that arose after the death of Joshua, the next generation will have lost perhaps 95 percent if not more of its foundational beliefs about homosexuality.  The idea or the concept of homosexuality as a sin has been largely erased and replaced with a dizzying mix of cultural lies, scientific repositioning and religious relativism.

Will this generation know God?

While Joshua’s generation lived, the memory of God’s mighty works in their midst remained fresh. And God was worshipped and obeyed. Joshua’s generation was the generation who, by God’s grace, had defeated the Amalekites, had crossed the Jordan River on dry ground, had seen Jericho’s walls  fall down, and for whom even the sun itself had stood still. How tragic that when Joshua’s generation died off, two things died with them. One was the memory of the God who had done so many spectacular miracles and the other was their obedience and remembrance of the law of God.

It wasnt that Joshua’s generation intentionally dropped the ball. But they lacked a purpose to pass on to the next generation what made them unique among all the peoples of the earth.

People of God this passage in Judges reflects what we are facing today if we do not pass on the knowledge of God, his word and his commandments to the next generation. The message is clear: when you forget the mighty acts of God, when  you stop worshiping Him, its inevitable that you will fall into the practice of merging our beliefs with whatever is prevalent in the culture around us. In the end, we worship our own idols and even ourselves because we have forgotten God and his law.

Touch your neighbor and tell them don’t forget God, and don’t forget his law. Tell your child don’t forget God and don’t forget his law. Look at your homeboy and your bff and tell them don’t forget God and don’t forget his law. Now tell yourself don’t forget God and don’t forget his law.

Seven things
There are seven things God wants this generation to know about homosexuality:
1. God does not change Malachi 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not
2. God’s word will not change Ps 119:89
3. Homosexuality is the opposite of holiness is what God requires 1 Thess 4:7
4. Homosexuality produces death (James 1:14,15)
5. The acceptance of homosexuality is a sign of God’s judgment upon us
6. Contextually, homosexuality is no more or less of a sin than any other. 1 Cor 6:9
7. The solution for homosexuality is the same as it is for all other sin. Mark 1:15

Hebrews 9:22 says, “Without shedding of blood there is no remission.”  I John 1:7 tells us that “The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.” God, in choosing the cleansing agent for our sins, chose the very best that He had, the blood of His own Son. It is by the precious blood of our Lord, that we are cleansed from all of our sins. Revelation 1:5 says, “To Him who loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood.” Yes, it is only by the blood of our Lord Jesus washes away the sin and stain of homosexuality.

Thank God for the blood. It reaches to the highest mountain and it flows to the lowest valley.
There is a fountain  filled with blood which flows from Emanuels veins; sinners can still plunge beneath its flood and lose all their guilty stains.
I can’t answer for you today but for me the blood that gives me strength from day to day will never, ever, never, never lose its power.

Soulforce director tags Christian teens for murder

Some people have a rather bizarre way of creating change but its just an example of how the homosexual activist movement is brainwashing its recruited youth into their fatalistic all-the-world-hates-us -and-wants-us-to-die ideology.

Jason Conner the “director of programs” at  Soulfarce and a former Mormon and equality rider blogged about his harrowing experience with Christian teens when he went to Minneapolis, in a quest to learn how to “create change” the gay way. The Creating Change conference featured such gay christian luminaries as Yvette Flunder, Nancy Wilson and sponsored by such companies as American Airlines and Wells Fargo Bank. Connor’s account is drowning in irony, but I doubt if he or those who schooled him will ever see it.

Via Americans for Truth about homosexuality, we learn that some of the  “change’ gay activists want to create is

  • Using polling, focus groups and emotional arguments to persuade evangelical Christians to ignore Scripture and accept homosexuality-based “rights”;
  • Using the tragedy of homosexual youth suicides to shame Christians into stop calling homosexuality sinful;
  • Pro-homosexuality lessons for grade school kids (because waiting until middle school is too late to reach them);
  • “Non-judgmental condom advocacy for young men in the name of HIV prevention — and even being non-judgmental in “safe sex” training when it comes to bizarre/disgusting “fetish” behaviors

Conner and his company of  ideological changelings went into maximum crisis mode when they discovered that the peaceful group of Christian kids wanted to pray for them. Gasp, what shall we do? These kids are both conservative AND fundamentalist!

“During the final full day of Creating Change, another conference was going on at the convention center next door and was a youth event hosted by a very fundamentalist group of “Christians”. Some of the youth had been instructed by their leaders to proselytize to folks at Creating Change and were encouraged to pray over us, invite us to “accept Christ”, and even suggested laying their hands on us! Here, a whole convention of youth are being told that our beautiful Queer identities are not wonderful, integral parts of our spirits which should be celebrated, but instead should be prayed for.

This kind of spiritual violence is exactly what we aim to dismantle in programs like the Equality Ride and in the other denominational actions Soulforce has participated in since our inception in 1999. Unfortunately, this kind of event is all too common and although I am an advocate for free speech and freedom of religion, I don’t believe in hate speech, homophobia, queerphobia, transphobia, and blatant spiritual violence as was exemplified by this group, and many of the other conservative “Christian” groups out there. This is the same language and intent that has kept me closeted for the first 24 years of my life and, more importantly, the force that encourages Queer people to take our own lives. This is not an issue of speech for me, but instead an issue of hate. When this kind of spiritual violence is perpetuated, people are killed, communities are ripped apart, and countless others are living in silence, fear, and shame.”

Let’s see, Conner accuses the teens of –lets count it out–: (1) hate speech (2) spiritual violence (3) murder (4) community anarchy (5) homophobia (6) queerphobia (7) transphobia and (8) not celebrating the wonders of homosexuality. Additionally, he says fear of the teens kept him locked in the closet for the “first 24 years of his life” which is an amazing feat seeing that Conner is only 26 years old.  Its not clear if any of the teens from the Acquire the Fire convention actually ever encountered the creating changers but, Conner says they were taking no chances.

All of the unnecessary invective hurled by Conner at the Christian teens proves what a farce the conference was. The vision of their religious Practice Spirit, Do Justice set up?

“We will deeply hold, acknowledge and learn from our differences as we engage in the transformational work of finding the overlaps in our stories and experiences. We will create a space where respectful, direct and accountable dialogue can take place during our time together.”

To sum things up, Connor learned at the creating gay change conference that:

A. Christian teenagers who want to pray for gays are dangerous, hateful and are guilty of killing gays and intimidating others into silence.

B. Change means things staying the same. Homosexuals don’t need to be changed even though they hold ironic conferences called “creating change” with the intent on changing everybody else.
